In January last year, Yichang City issued the "Opinions on Promoting the Green Development of Animal Husbandry", officially launched the city's livestock and poultry ecological breeding demonstration creation, and proposed to build 10 ecological breeding demonstration townships and 20 ecological breeding demonstration villages by 2020, and the total amount of ecological breeding livestock products will account for more than 30% of the total livestock products. Since last year, Yichang Municipal Finance has arranged a total of 7.1 million yuan to support the creation of pig ecological demonstrations, and the city has formed a pattern of creation of upper and lower linkage and coordinated advancement.
The city strengthens the scientific and technological support of pig ecological breeding, docks with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Huazhong Agricultural University and other scientific research institutions, and signs a cooperation agreement on the integrated technology of pig ecological breeding system with the scientific research team of academician Chen Huanchun, and has achieved a number of research results in pig ecological breeding varieties, standards, feed, etc., forming 4 special programs such as "Yichang Ecological Pig Production Technical Specifications" and "Pig Ecological Breeding Breed Improvement and Promotion Program", and exploring and promoting 3 pig ecological breeding technology paths. It has trained more than 10,000 breeding practitioners.
According to the characteristics of long ecological breeding cycle, special green feed and semi-house feeding, the animal husbandry and veterinary departments at the city and county levels have organized more than 200 technical personnel to guide farmers to comprehensively implement good seeds, good materials and good methods in demonstration townships and villages. Strengthen manure treatment to protect the environment, and in demonstration townships and villages, a total of 53,700 square meters of standardized pens for pig ecological breeding have been transformed, leading the development of thousands of ecological pig breeding farmers. The city's ecological breeding professional cooperatives have flourished, cultivating and creating a number of characteristic ecological pig product brands such as "Qingpinghe Black Pig", "Mountain Mu Black Pig" and "Parkson Soil Pig".
