From late October to today (November 2), there has been no rain disturbing Shanghai for about 12 days.

Tomorrow (November 3) will remain unchanged, predominantly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 22°C, which may be the end of this round of good weather, with a noticeable precipitation coming.

On November 2, the surging news reporter learned from the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau that due to the influence of Cyclone Jianghuai, Shanghai began to rain during the day on the 4th, and the rain increased at night, and the rain was lingering all day on the 5th, and the amount of rain was not small.

In the dry autumn, such "quite large" precipitation is rare. The intermittent rain will continue into this weekend, and then it will end not with the beautiful autumn sunshine, but with a strong cold air.

From the 4th, another large-scale cold wave struck

At present, cold air has been stored in Siberia, once "shipped", it will sweep through most of China, and even Hainan, Guangdong and other "winter resorts" will be affected.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from November 4 to 7, due to the influence of the cold wave, There will be a windy cooling weather process in China from northwest to southeast, with strong rain and snow in some areas and strong offshore winds in the eastern seas. This large-scale cold wave has a wide range of influence, a large cooling range, and strong winds.

From the 4th to the 5th, the cold wave will mainly affect the central and western parts of Xinjiang and the northwest region; on the 6th, it will move east to the south to affect the eastern part of the northwest region, north China, northeast China, central China and the northern part of the southwest region; on the 7th, it will affect the east, south China, and southern parts of the southwest region.

In terms of cooling, from the 4th to the 7th, the temperature in most parts of China will drop by 8 to 10 °C successively, and the decline in some parts of the northwest, north China, Huanghuai, western Jianghuai, and southern northeast China can reach 12 to 14 °C, and the local drop is more than 16 °C.

It should be noted that the Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that on the morning of the 7th, the minimum temperature 0 °C line is located in central Hebei, southern Shanxi to southern Shaanxi, and the minimum temperature in the Beijing Plain can reach about -4 °C.

It is worth noting that not all cold air can be called cold waves.

According to the China Meteorological Administration, the cold wave is a large-scale process of strong cold air activity. The national standard of "Cold Air Grade" formulated by the Central Meteorological Observatory stipulates that the standard of cold wave is: after the cold air transit in a certain area, the temperature drops by more than 8 °C within 24 hours, or the temperature drops by more than 10 °C within 48 hours, or the temperature drops by more than 12 °C continuously within 72 hours, and the minimum temperature is below 4 °C, which can be called a cold wave weather process.

The lowest temperature in Shanghai has fallen to single digits since the 8th

Shanghai is naturally also in the cold air sweeping sphere of influence, when there will be significant cooling, windy weather. The Shanghai Meteorological Department predicts that the temperature in Shanghai will drop from the afternoon of the 7th, and the minimum temperature will drop to single digits from the 8th, which is quite a feeling of winter overnight.

Where does the cold air affecting Shanghai come from? The Shanghai Meteorological Department explained that according to statistics, about 95% of the cold air invading China has to pass through the central Siberian region, and accumulate and strengthen there, which is also a key area. There are three paths for cold air to invade Shanghai to reach the level of cold waves.

Middle Road: Directly through the Loop to the Yangtze River Basin, affecting Shanghai. This path has the most cold waves, accounting for 92%; East Road: from the east of the Loop through North China into the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea affects East China and Shanghai. This path accounts for 5% of the cold tide; West Road: from the west of the Loop, it goes south along the east side of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, affecting the Yangtze River Basin and Shanghai. This path accounts for only 3%.

Generally speaking, the cold air on East Road will bring gloomy, wet and cold weather to Shanghai, while the cold air on West Road will bring long periods of sunny and dry weather. Around the 7th, the path of this wave of cold air is far to the west.

Meteorological experts remind that this wave of cold waves is not a paper tiger, the temperature "sighs" down at once, not only the cooling is intense, the wind is also strong, the body feels cold, the public needs to pay attention to temperature changes, increase clothing in time, beware of cold.
