"Is it difficult or easy to do things in the world? For this, it is easy to be difficult; if it is not, it is also difficult to be easy. ”

This is a classic sentence in the Qing Dynasty essay "For Learning" that entered the middle school textbook, which always evokes the memories of many people when they read books. However, what few people know is that the author of the article, Peng Duanshu, has a Danling past.

Peng Duanshu (彭端淑), courtesy name Lezhai (樂斋), was a native of Danling County, Meizhou (present-day Danling County), and together with Li Tiaoyuan and Zhang Wentao, he was known as the "Three Talents of Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty". The literary enlightenment of this talent began with the former Shuangqiao Town in Danling County (after the adjustment of the township division, Shuangqiao Town was abolished, and the area involved in the text was merged into Renmei Town).

According to legend, during the reign of Qing Shun, Peng Duanshu's grandfather Peng Wankun returned to his hometown from Jianzhou (present-day Jianyang City). One day, he came to Sanghuangba on the north bank of the Dong'an River in the former Shuangqiao Town, and was fascinated by the elegant and picturesque scenery here, and decided to build a pavilion here, read and teach, and benefit the people of his hometown. With the support of local rich and wealthy businessmen, coupled with Peng Wankun's years of savings as an official abroad, the attic of Sanghuangba was quickly built. The people around Sanghuangba sent their children to the attic to study, and the attic became a well-known school.

Peng Duanshu and his brothers Peng Zhaosu and Peng Zunsi were born here. Thanks to the convenience of the family's school, the three Peng Duanshu brothers have been working together since they were young, reading and reading in the attic of Sanghuangba, and spending the best childhood time of their lives.

At the age of 10, Peng Duanshu was able to compose, and at the age of 12, he entered the county school, and his hard work in Danling laid a solid literary foundation for Peng Duanshu. In the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726 AD), Peng Duanshu was raised in the examination, and in the eleventh year of Yongzheng, Peng Duanshu was also admitted to the jinshi and entered the career path.

In his later years, Peng Duanshu found that his children and nephews were not serious about studying, so he wrote an article encouraging his nephews to study diligently, "To learn a poem to show their children and nephews". I don't want this article like a family training, after hundreds of years of circulation, has become a famous prose article that inspires Xinxin students, which has also become the eternal pride of Danling people.

Nowadays, there are still people in the local area who are engaged in the collection and collation of Peng Duanshu's works at their own expense, and from time to time they are photocopied for people to learn and appreciate, inspiring the growth of young people.
