Death of Dai Kasa

In October 1945, just after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the whole country was still immersed in a festive atmosphere, Dai Kasa, the head of the Kuomintang Bureau's secret service, was like an ant on a hot pot, suffering heavily.

The reason was that his military command would not be able to survive. In order to make a gesture of establishing a "democratic regime" and to guarantee the people's right not to be detained and punished by organs other than the judiciary and the police, Chiang Kai-shek had to make some "superficial remarks."

The focus of this article fell on Dai Kasa and the military command, and he issued an order to Dai Kasa to "abolish the military command bureau and reduce it to zero."

Killing two birds with one stone can not only appease the people's resentment over the "notorious" military unification and ease the dissatisfaction of many factions within the Kuomintang with military unification, but also take the opportunity to crack down on the expansion of Dai Kasa's power and prevent Dai Kasa from making further unfavorable moves against Chiang.

Chiang Kai-shek set up a five-member group led by him, consisting of Qian Dajun, Hu Zongnan, Tang Zhong, and Xuan Tiewu, to monitor Dai Kasa and study the strategy of suppression. This also shows that Chiang Kai-shek began to doubt Dai Kasa's loyalty.

In this regard, Dai Kasa fortunately avoided the noisy situation in Chongqing, and under the pretext of inspecting the "anti-rape cases" in various places, he flew between cities in north and northeast China to avoid surveillance.

But Dai Kasa did not expect that the "accident" happened in the flight.

The secret of Yoshiko Kawashima

While in Peiping, Dai Kasa learned that the Japanese spy Yoshiko Kawashima had been arrested.

Because Yoshiko Kawashima has been active in North China for a long time, she is also extremely familiar with the Manchu and Mongolian situation, and she has a large number of networks and secrets in her hands. In particular, Dai Kasa learned that Ma Hansan, the head of the North China Region of the Military Command and director of the Beiping Office of the Military Command Bureau, and Kawashima Yoshiko had an ulterior secret.

Dai Kasa came to be interested. He was to personally interrogate Yoshiko Kawashima.

Death of Dai Kasa

I don't know if I don't know, and I am shocked at first instance. In order to survive, Kawashima Yoshiko confessed truthfully to Dai Kasa, telling the secret that Ma Hansan had defected to Japan during the War of Resistance.

Moreover, Yoshiko Kawashima also said that after Ma Hansan arrested her, he snatched a Nine Dragon Sword from her home.

I didn't expect the arraignment to be an unexpected gain. Yoshiko Kawashima said the sword as a proof of Ma Hansan's rebellion.

The speaker has no intention, the listener intends. When Dai Kasa heard the words "Nine Dragon Sword", his eyes lit up, and he carefully inquired about the appearance and length of the sword, whether the sword handle was carved with a dragon, the number and shape of the gems embedded in the sword sheath, and so on.

Originally, this ancient sword was 5 feet long, the body of the sword was radiant, stainless and unpolluted, and there were 9 golden dragons carved on the hilt, symbolizing the supreme imperial power of "nine nine to one".

After questioning, Dai Kasa concluded that this sword was the one that Sun Dianying, the "great thief of The Tanglin Tomb", had stolen from the tomb of the Qianlong Emperor and promised to give it to Chiang Kai-shek.

In that year, when Sun Dianying presented the sword to Dai Kasa and asked him to present it to Chiang Kai-shek, Dai Kasa was entangled in official duties and was afraid of losing the sword, so he handed it over to Ma Hansan for safekeeping.

Soon after, however, Ma Hansan was arrested by the Japanese army and not only confessed all the information, but also presented the sword to the Japanese agent Tanaka Takayoshi. Later, Tanaka passed by Peiping and handed the sword to her lover Yoshiko Kawashima for safekeeping.

This is the scene where Ma Hansan "lost and regained" the Nine Dragon Sword.

At this time, Ma Hansan's relationship interests behind Peiping were intertwined. Dai Kasa did not immediately act on Ma Hansan, but sent someone to deliver a message to Ma Hansan, but only asked for the "ancient sword that was found", and did not talk about other topics, nor did he pursue any crimes.

Ma Hansan was very clever, happily handed over the sword, and also rendered how he was "born into death" to protect the ancient sword. These lies are full of flaws, of course, they can't deceive Dai Kasa. However, Dai Kasa, who has always been decisive, used the "delaying tactic" when he made the shot, giving Ma Hansan a chance to breathe.

Ma Hansan also understood Dai Kasa's intentions and knew that Dai Kasa would pick him up sooner or later. In order to further stabilize Dai Kasa and leave a way for himself to retreat, Ma Hansan ming personally escorted the 10 large boxes of valuable calligraphy and painting antiques, gold and silver treasures prepared for him to the assorted garden of Bowstring Hutong to honor Dai Kasa; secretly, he was ready to break the cauldron and sink the boat, and wanted to kill Dai Kasa to protect himself.

Dai Kasa's stubbornness

Dai Kasa was not in a hurry to clean up Ma Hansan because there was another big thing that worried him even more. In February 1946, Chiang Kai-shek set up a new 8-member group to study the abolition of the Military Command Bureau.

Among these 8 people, only Dai Kasa "single-handedly", forming a 1-on-7 situation. This was extremely unfavorable to Dai Kasa, and the revocation of military command was a foregone conclusion. Moreover, Chiang Kai-shek had already sent telegrams twice in a row urging Dai to return to Chongqing to attend the eight-member meeting.

Death of Dai Kasa

He had to go. More importantly, April 1 is the anniversary of the founding of the Military Command. This was the first anniversary of the military command after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and it may also be the last anniversary of the military command, and out of affection for the military command, Dai Kasa had to participate in this ceremony.

On March 13, Dai rushed from Beiping to Tianjin, accompanied by Ma Hansan. Before leaving, Wang Pushen, chief inspector of the military command in North China, led the cadres of the military command in Beiping to send them off. Dai Kasa said goodbye to the military command agents, and said humbly: "The next is not an example, this is the last time."

Unexpectedly, this became a proverb before Dai Kasa's death.

On March 16, Dai arrived in Qingdao and decided to go to Shanghai the next day, saying that the packs and items he had brought, including the 10 large boxes of "gifts" sent to him by Ma Hansan, would not be put on the plane.

On March 17, the weather forecast was that there might be rain in the Shanghai area. Despite the pilot's fears that the weather conditions would not allow him to take off, Dai Kasa insisted: taking off at 11 o'clock and having the pilot prepare 800 gallons of fuel. In case the weather conditions in Shanghai are too harsh, you can transfer to Nanjing Airport or fly directly to Chongqing. After the arrangement was completed, Dai Kasa also said with great interest, "God help."

During the flight, the pilot learned that the Shanghai airport was in a rainstorm, so he flew to Nanjing, but it was also torrential rain, lightning and thunder. At this time, the Air Force had sent 4 aircraft to navigate Dai Kasa's plane, but the clouds were too low for them to get in touch with Plane 222.

Plane 222 also sent two signals to the ground: the first was that the plane was ready to return, and the second was that the plane was planning to land in Nanjing. At 13:13, the aircraft signaled that they were landing. Immediately after, the contact was interrupted...

Soon, the news of Dai Kasa's disappearance spread among the senior agents of the military command in Nanjing, Qingdao, Tianjin, and Beiping, causing a panic.

In the early morning of March 18, Mao Renfeng broke into Chiang Kai-shek's official residence and urgently reported to Chiang Kai-shek the news of the disappearance of Dai Kasa and the special plane.

After Chiang Kai-shek listened, he did not say a word for half a day. Then urgently ordered the Air Force to do everything possible to search along the way, to see people alive and corpses in death.

Ma Hansan's black hand?

Shortly after dai's plane disappeared, Li Renren, director of the Nanjing office of the military command, received a message: On the afternoon of March 17, over Jiangning County, a southwestern suburb of Nanjing, a military plane crashed, but it was not certain whether it was Special Plane 222. The place where the fall was called Daishan, which was later falsely rumored to be Daishan.

On the afternoon of the 17th, the villagers first saw a plane hovering low, and then crashed into a mountaintop, emitting a deafening explosion and bursting into flames.

On the morning of March 19, when Li and his entourage arrived at Daishan, the scene had been washed to pieces by heavy rains for several days, and the wreckage of the plane was thrown in a circle into the mud halfway up the mountain, and the wreckage was mixed with charred limbs and severed bodies. The body of Dai Kasa himself has been washed by the rain into a ditch called "Sleepy Rain Ditch". After identification, the left molars of the corpse were inlaid with 6 gold teeth, which was undoubtedly Dai Kasa himself.

Among the antique treasures scattered in the pursuit of the plane crash, the local county magistrate sent an ancient sword, although the scabbard and handle of the sword were damaged, the body of the sword was still cold and shining, and the sharpness was incomparable.

This was exactly the Nine Dragon Sword that Dai Kasa had retrieved from Ma Hansan's hand.

Death of Dai Kasa

The miraculous "Spy King" actually died in an air crash, which triggered all kinds of speculation for a while.

In 1948, a top-secret document submitted to Chiang Kai-shek by the Secrecy Bureau, the reorganized organization of the Military Command, drew a conclusion about the 3.17 air disaster.

The documents say that Ma Hansan peeked at Dai's letters and learned of Dai's whereabouts to Qingdao, Shanghai and other places. Ma Hansan, who killed Dai Kasa, plotted an air accident.

Ma Hansan found his confidant secretary Liu Yuzhu to rush to Qingdao first, and using his status as a supervisor in North China, he tried to plant a time bomb on Dai Kasa's special plane and detonate when the plane flew to Shanghai, creating the illusion of landing and crashing.

On September 27, 1948, Ma Hansan and Liu Yuzhu were secretly executed.

Ma Hansan was ultimately convicted of "embezzlement." But was Dai Kasa's death the work of this person? Until now, there is still no conclusion.
