The China-Pakistan Friendship Square is located in the fourth phase of Hankou Jiangtan, and on the basis of maintaining the original state of the square, sculptures such as "70 Years of China-Pakistan Friendship", "Driving", "Kudu Horn Goat" (Pakistani National Beast) and "Chinese Sturgeon" (Treasure of the Yangtze River) have been added.
Ambassador Moyn Haq said it was a historic day that embodied the iron friendship and deep brotherhood between Pakistan and China and was a true symbol of the legendary history of China-Pakistan relations.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. At the end of 2020, Moin Haq, Pakistan's new ambassador to China, proposed to promote the formal conclusion of friendly provincial relations between Hubei Province and Pakistan's Sindh Province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan in 2021, and to set up a "China-Pakistan Friendship Square" between Wuhan City and Karachi City, the capital of the two provinces. During Ambassador Moin Haq's visit to Hubei in April this year, the two sides reached a consensus on jointly promoting friendly exchanges between hubei and Pakistani local governments and establishing a "China-Pakistan Friendship Plaza" between Wuhan and Karachi.

In 2001, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf visited Hubei and visited the Three Gorges Dam under construction on the Yangtze River. In February 2009, the Chief Minister of Sindh Province, together with the then President of Pakistan, Zardari, visited Hubei, attended the "China-Hubei-Pakistan Agricultural and Water Resources Cooperation Forum", and inspected the development of Hubei Province in the fields of water conservancy and agriculture, which promoted the friendly cooperation between Hubei and Pakistan. During the visit, Hubei signed a memorandum of friendly exchanges with Pakistan's Sindh province.
According to reports, Sindh Province has not yet established friendly provincial relations with other provinces in China, and has only signed a letter of intent for friendly exchanges with Hubei Province. Ambassador Moin Haq has publicly praised Hubei on many occasions and is very concerned about Hubei's ability to formally conclude friendly relations with Sindh province at an early date.
In September 2021, the All-China Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries officially approved the formal conclusion of friendly relations between Hubei Province and Sindh Province. On November 2, the two sides formally signed a friendly province agreement, and Ambassador Moin Haq said: "It is unprecedented to establish a series of friendly relations with a province in one day. ”
At the unveiling ceremony, China and Pakistan signed relevant cooperation agreements and further promotion plans in the joint education projects of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Pakistan's Sialkot Applied Engineering and Emerging University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Landing Intelligent Medicine Company's smart medical cooperation project in Pakistan, and the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission and the Pakistan Hydropower Development Agency's water cooperation project in the field of water.

On November 2, Ambassador Moin Haq made a special trip to China Three Gorges Corporation to thank the medical team of the First People's Hospital of Yichang City, Hubei Province, which assisted the Karot Hydropower Project in Pakistan, and to issue certificates to the representatives of the doctors who aided Pakistan.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Three Gorges Group, the Karot Hydropower Station in Pakistan is invested and constructed by China's Three Gorges Group, which is the first large-scale hydropower investment and construction project under the "Belt and Road" initiative and the first hydropower investment project of the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor".
Li Junming, president of the First People's Hospital of Yichang City, introduced that in order to protect the life and health of more than 4,000 Chinese and Pakistani employees of the Karot Hydropower Station, the hospital has continuously sent 3 groups of medical teams and 15 medical staff to Pakistan to carry out epidemic prevention and control work since May 2020, of which 5 medical staff returned to China in the first half of this year.
As of October 31, the medical team has completed more than 70,000 nucleic acid tests in Pakistan. So far, not a single case has progressed to critical illness, nor has there been a widespread spread of COVID-19.
