Flora and fauna of Vanuatu

Vanuatu people never have to worry about going hungry because there is so much to eat. I've visited several locals. They have lawns in their yards and many trees, bananas, mangoes, coconuts, papayas, bread trees are the most common. And, basically, these trees grow on their own. These trees are also common on the side of the road, but it is best not to pick them, as some trees have owners. The locals are hospitable, you ask them for a few to eat, they will not refuse you.

Cut it open and take a look

I personally like coconut trees and bread trees, because with these two kinds of trees, we can eat and drink. The fruit of the bread tree is so big that one is enough for me to eat for a day. If boiled in water, it tastes a bit like potatoes, but is softer than potatoes, and if fried in oil, it is really delicious. But many outsiders prefer another tree: sandalwood. Vanuatu's sandalwood is really not expensive, but the fragrance is very strong. The first time I bought it, it was cut from a tree that was more than 20 years old, and it was estimated to weigh a pound. I thought it would be expensive, but the host only needed me to convert into less than 100 yuan.

Stinky noni fruit

Noni fruit is everywhere here, this fruit is smelly, and at first, I was far away from walking. Later, I learned that this thing has a good health effect, especially for heart disease and the "three highs". This fruit contains a very full range of trace elements. Anyway, I don't want to try this stuff in the short term.

Small lotus pond

Vanuatu has a lot of lotus flowers, I don't know if it was brought Chinese. That time, the local children took me to a small lake to play, and when I saw a large area of lotus flowers, I suddenly felt that I had returned to my hometown. The locals didn't know that the lotus canopy was edible, and I showed them a little bit and they raved about it. Of course, they are even less aware that the lotus under the lotus flower has a higher economic value.

The land I bought myself also has a lot of plants, a coconut grove, a lemon grove, a noni fruit grove, a few bread trees, a few coffee plants. There are many trees that I can't name, and many are said to be edible. And there are many trees that are hundreds of years old. Originally a small dick in Beijing, she suddenly felt that she was still quite rich.

Vanuatu has very few harmful animals, not many mosquitoes, not many flies, not many bugs, very few rats, and has gone to the barren land full of grass many times, and has never seen a snake. Locals say the only thing to watch out for on land is mimosa, and nothing else is toxic.

The most common in Vanuatu are wrens and a very small bird, and I have a few parrots in my forest as nests. Vanuatu is plentiful, and if your home is next to the sea, there will be small sea crabs, coconut crabs and grass crabs in your yard. Every night after the sea recedes, come to the beach, and you can pick up scallops, shrimp, sea cucumbers, and sea urchins. Vanuatu is rich in tuna, but you can't catch it without a boat. Not far from my farm, is the entrance of a river, and there are a lot of tuna in that place.

Farms larger than 30 hectares in Vanuatu are largely white. They raise cattle, sheep and pigs. But they don't manage much. Just divide the land into zones, and the cattle eat the grass in one zone and are driven into another. The farmers are very proud and they say my food "pew", which means pure natural and pollution-free. Vanuatu is indeed clean, the capital has basically running water, but everyone drinks rainwater directly. I was skeptical and asked several Asians, "Can we fit in?" They all said no problem, they've all been here for ten years and have never been sick. The children in the family catch a cold once a year, and there are no other diseases.

Having said all that, put some photos out there. Look at the waters of Vanuatu, which are still transparent at a depth of two meters.
