At the 46th Annual Saturn Awards ceremony on October 26, 2021, Star Wars won seven awards:
1. Best Science Fiction Film: "The Rise of Skywalker";
2. Best Director: "The Rise of Skywalker" director J. J. Abrams;
3. Best Music: "The Rise of Skywalker" Soundtrack by John Williams;
4) Best Makeup: "Rise of Skywalker" makeup artists Amanda Knight and Neal Scanlan;
5. Best Special Effects: "Rise of Skywalker" special effects artists Roger Guyett, Neil Scanlon, Patrick Tubach and Dominic Tuohy;
6. Best TV performance (less than 10 episodes): "The Mandalorian";
7. Best TV Series: The Clone Wars Season 7;
The Saturn Awards were founded in 1973 by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films and are awarded annually. Unlike the Academy Awards, the Saturn Awards are awarded only to sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thriller, and action-adventure films. Star Wars film and television dramas have always been frequent visitors to saturn awards:
"New Hope" won 12 awards at the 5th Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction, Best Supporting Actor (Alec Guinness), Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Music, Best Costume, Best Makeup, Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Set and Outstanding Cinematographer.
"Empire Strikes Back" won four awards at the 8th Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actor (Mark Hamill), Best Director and Best Special Effects.
"Return of the Jedi" won five awards at the 11th Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actor (Mark Hamill), Best Costume, Best Makeup and Best Special Effects.
The Phantom Menace won two awards at the 26th Saturn Awards for Best Costume and Best Special Effects. Best Science Fiction Film was lost to Matrix.
Attack of the Clones won two awards at the 29th Saturn Awards for Best Costume and Best Special Effects. The award for Best Science Fiction Film was lost to Minority Report.
Revenge of the Sith won two awards at the 32nd Saturn Awards for Best Sci-Fi Film and Best Soundtrack.
The Force Awakens won 8 awards at the 42nd Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Harrison Ford), Best Supporting Actor (Adam Dreifer), Best Music, Best Editing, Best Makeup and Best Special Effects.
Rogue One won three awards at the 43rd Saturn Awards for Best Science Fiction Film, Best Director and Best Special Effects.
The Last Jedi won three awards at the 44th Saturn Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Mark Hamill) and Best Editing. The award for Best Science Fiction Film was lost to Blade Runner 2049.
Rise of the Rebels won best television animation at the 43rd and 44th Saturn Awards.
The Resistance won best television animation at the 45th Saturn Awards.
Solo did not win any awards at the 45th Saturn Awards, and was only nominated for Best Sci-Fi, but unfortunately lost to Ready Player One.
