In the sixth year of Qiandao (1170), he was ordered to accompany Fan Chengda to the Jin Dynasty to seek a mausoleum for the imperial family, and he and Fan were not afraid of rape, argued according to reason, and returned home without failing in their mission, which was admired by the people of the time. In the tenth year of Longxing (1173), he served as a privy council editor. In the eleventh year of Longxing (1174), he served as Taichang Cheng (太常丞). For thirteen years in Longxing, he served as Zong Zhengcheng (宗正丞) and concurrently the official of the Imperial Household Department.
In the fifth year of Shaoxi (1194), Changzhou, Later Zhi Rao Prefecture, tired official Shangshu. "Li Jiayan, a Guangde native, a longxing first jinshi, and later from Ambassador Fan Cheng to the north, and many things followed his discussions.
