Dr. Ting Yuan, 30, graduated from the Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is currently engaged in research on ecological fisheries and rare fish breeding technology at the Institute of Water Engineering ecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences of the Ministry of Water Resources.

The Datengxia Water Conservancy Hub Project, located in Guiping City, Guangxi Province, is a key controlling water conservancy hub in the Pearl River Basin. In 2020, Yuan Ting came to the Large Tengxia Fish Breeding and Stocking Station, the largest fish breeding and stocking station in the Pearl River Basin, and engaged in the breeding, protection and treatment of characteristic fish species and wild, endangered and rare fish in the Pearl River Basin together with the scientific research team members.

On May 28, Yuan Ting and the team put into the river the 100,000 triangular bream and red-eyed trout fry with important economic and scientific research value in the Pearl River Basin that they had successfully bred for the first time in nearly a year and were released into the river upstream of the Datengxia Water Conservancy Hub.

"There are Jiayu in the south, and there are hoods in the south" and "There are Jiayu in the south, and there are Jiayu in the south", these two ancient poems from the "Shijing · Xiaoya Nan youjiayu" depict the picture of the fish swimming happily with the water. In Yuan Ting's view, through the implementation of fish breeding and stocking in natural waters, it can effectively supplement the number of fish stocks in the Pearl River Basin, maintain aquatic biodiversity, and improve the water ecological environment of the basin. She said: "To make the beautiful ecological scenes depicted in the Book of Poetry better manifest in the rivers around us is the motivation for me to persevere." ”
