Enduring! Shaoxing's 600-year-old ancient city gate has been restored to its original appearance

Recently, the public interest litigation procuratorial department of Yuecheng District "looked back" at the case of "erosion of the style of the east city gate of SanjiangSuo City" and found that the city gate had "bid farewell" to the problem of natural erosion, and once again showed a primitive and ancient appearance. In June this year, Hu Jian, a public interest litigation observer at the Yuecheng District People's Procuratorate in Shaoxing City, found in a survey that the ancient city gate, which has a history of more than 600 years, is full of vines, the city wall is almost completely covered with plants, and the original appearance of the ancient city gate is difficult to distinguish.

After receiving the clue, the district procuratorate immediately set up a special investigation team and invited 3 public interest litigation assistant procurators with literary and historical expertise to participate in the investigation and discussion of the case. Through field visits, historical materials, expert arguments, etc., the investigation team learned that the east gate of Sanjiang City is a stone cultural relic, and a large number of existing plants have been attached to the surface of the city wall for a long time, which has affected the overall protection of cultural relics. In addition, plant-derived microorganisms grow and multiply in the deep cracks of cultural relics, increasingly changing the internal structure of cultural relics, resulting in the risk of collapse and destruction of the main body of the city gate.

On July 19, the district procuratorate issued a pre-litigation procuratorial recommendation for public interest litigation to the relevant departments, urging them to properly remove the plants attached to the east gate of Sanjiangsuo City, restore the city gate as soon as possible, implement daily supervision duties, and strengthen the inspection and management of cultural relics protection. After the relevant departments receive the procuratorial suggestions, they quickly organize professionals to assess the damage to the ancient city gate, and agree with the public interest litigation procuratorial department on an emergency response plan and a long-term supervision mechanism. With the cooperation of various departments, the special treatment of the East City Gate of the Sanjiang Institute was fully launched, and the damage to the ancient city gate was not obvious due to the timely and proper disposal.

It is understood that the relevant departments have promoted the establishment of a "1 + 1 + N" long-term mechanism for the protection of cultural relics, that is, with each cultural protection point within the jurisdiction as the unit, "one-to-one" set up a cultural relics protection working group composed of the competent department's contact leaders, the local street liaison officers, and the village community safety personnel, signed the annual cultural relics protection management responsibility letter, and at the same time set up a team of more than 220 amateur cultural security personnel in 17 town streets, inspected no less than 3 times a week, and once the hidden dangers of cultural relics were found, they were reported and dealt with immediately.
