Hannan College is located in Hantai District Middle School Lane No. 8, hannan college is now open to the public covers an area of 3.8 acres, green area of about 900 square meters, there are 18 houses such as Mao Han Hall, Kui Wen Ge, Dacheng Hall three halls.
Hannan College is the predecessor of Hanzhong Middle School and has a long history. In the fourth year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1739), Yue Li, the deputy envoy of Hannan, Zhu Xiansheng, the prefect of Hanzhong, and Hou Tianzhang of Nanzhengzhi County raised funds to choose the ruins of the Mingrui Palace in the north of the city to abolish the ancestral hall, "creating a zhai she, a gate wall, and gathering all the students to study during the period, and the 'Hannan Academy'" was called 'Hannan Academy'" In the thirteenth year of Jiaqing (1808), the prefect Yan Rushi, seeing that the academy was too narrow, raised funds to purchase foundations, rebuilt the main gate and the second gate, added 10 study rooms and 2 warehouses, built a new Wenchang Ancestral Hall and Kuixing Pavilion (the second floor), and renovated the collapsed and inclined dilapidated buildings. Since then, the Hannan Academy of Sciences has begun to take shape, and the college has also formulated rules and regulations, carved stone trees and built monuments to hang on to the longevity. At its peak, Hannan College had more than 100 houses in seven courtyards, which was a large-scale government-run education place with the greatest influence in Hanzhong.

After more than 280 years of passing on the torch, Hannan Academy has produced many talents. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, there were scientific expeditions and 289th people, of which 36 were jinshi and 6 were wujinshi, 134 were juju and 21 were wuju; Gongsheng 92 people are dazzling in the annals of history. In modern times, there are He Tingying, the famous general of the Red Army, He Tingying, commander-in-chief of the Defense War of Huang Yangjie, Zuo Ming, a famous dramatist, and Zhang Shuliang, an educator; He Yiting, executive vice president of the Central Party School of the former Eighteenth Central Committee; Ma Zhongping, chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, outstanding alumni who served the society; and many experts who worked in all walks of life, who are well-known in the Three Qins.
The renovation and opening of Hannan Academy not only preserves the precious cultural context and historical memory of Hanzhong, but also makes the long history of the college and the thick cultural resources glow with new vitality in the new era.
It is understood that the currently open Hannan Academy mainly displays historical and related cultural documents, showing the achievements of hanzhong city's educational development and the history and current situation of Hanzhong Middle School. In the future, Hannan Academy will be built into a scenic spot of Hanhua Chinese Tourism College, a Hanzhong Education Museum and a platform and display point for cultural exchanges and cooperation.
