Tottenham star Garth Brooks said his favourite Premier League player is Coutinho due to his excellent performances this season. Brooks believes it could be dangerous for Coutinho to lead the Reds to the top four this season if Coutinho suffers a blow such as injury.
"Coutinho is my favourite Premier League player at the moment and I said before the season that Liverpool could say goodbye to the top four if Coutinho suffers an injury blow. Still, Liverpool, now led by Coutinho, are a dynamic team that needs to protect him, with Coutinho driving Lallana, Mane, Firmino and Wijnaldum. Brooks told the BBC.
'If Klopp can straighten out the defence in the second half of the season, then Liverpool will be a real title-contending team and it's his dereliction of duty to let defence go unchecked.
Coutinho joined Liverpool from Inter Milan in 2013 and has scored 25 goals in 116 games for Liverpool in all competitions. Coutinho has been fully present in the league this season, and he has scored four goals and two assists, and Liverpool, who currently have six wins, are in third place in the table. Liverpool will challenge Tottenham hottest in the Quarter-finals of the League Cup at 2.45am on Wednesday, and they will face league rivals Crystal Palace away in the early hours of Sunday morning.
