Hargreaves: Marcus Rashford was "angry" with Solskjaer and he should have played sooner

Owen Hargreaves claims Marcus Rashford is "outraged" by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to kick him out of the starting line-up in Manchester United's win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed formation after an embarrassing 5-0 loss to Liverpool to place the team at 3-5-2.

Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo held two positions in the front until Rashford came off the bench in the second half.

In the 3-0 win over the weak Tottenham Hotspur, all three players scored, but Hargreaves said it was clear Rashford was "angry" with Solskjaer.

"I think you can see from his celebrations that he (Marcus Rashford) was very angry," the player-turned-pundit told Premier League productions (via the Mirror).

"But in a sense, when two legends show up in front of you, it's hard for you to complain.

'He's never going to give up on Ronaldo, he needs someone else, Cavani did a great job last season – he should have played earlier.

"Putting Rashford and Mason Greenwood off the bench, while it's not good for them, maybe it's time for the team to balance.

'They looked good today and Marcus Rashford will score from the bench, that's for sure.

This is The second time Cavani has started in the Premier League this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring Rashford, Mason Greenwood or Jaden Sancho to accompany Ronaldo in the forward zone.

But the Norwegian's choice was reasonable because Cavani and Ronaldo worked well together and the Red Devils were more solid.

After being beaten by Liverpool, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed it was a time to need experience.

"My experience came true. I was told it was the oldest team I'd picked for Manchester United and it's time – so to speak," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Sky Sports in a post-match interview.

"I've been here for almost three years and Cavani's training performance on Tuesday was probably the best of all.

"So the old man came out from the front."
