In November 2021, the Shanghai Art Film Alliance continued to bring two Chinese and foreign film festivals to enrich the activities of the "Weekly Film Festival". The first is the "Centenary Theme Film Festival" held in November, and the second is the "Aki Korismaki Film Retrospective Exhibition" held from November 13 to November 27. This "Aki Korismachi Film Retrospective Exhibition" will show Aki Kaurismäki 12 feature films, retracing his creative origins and internationally renowned masterpieces, exploring Nordic film styles, and enriching the big-screen experience of Shanghai audiences.

Aki Korismaki is a world-renowned Finnish film master, and his works often start from small people, refracting the hardships of life in a black humorous way and expressing attention to the low-level characters. His work began to gain international attention in the late 1980s and grew into a unique film master.
The films screened in this retrospective of Aki Kaurismäki's films include Aki Kaurismäki's feature-length debut, Crime and Punishment, based on Dostoevsky's tome of the same name; "The LoneLy Shadow of Heaven", one of the "proletarian trilogies" about the garbage workers' brave pursuit of love; the second part of the "Proletarian Trilogy", "The Liftoff", which tells the miners' crazy life path due to an unjust case; and the internationally acclaimed grotesque musical comedy "Leningrad Cowboy's March" The black comedy "I Hired a Professional Killer" starring the famous French film star Jean-Pierre Lyod; the tragicomedy "Bohemian Life" based on the novel of French novelist Henri Moog, which tells the story of three fallen artists wandering in Paris; the interesting sequel to "Leningrad Cowboys on Moses"; "Floating Clouds" about unemployed couples starting a business again; "The Man Without a Past" about the amnesiac man's new life; the story of a security guard who has been repeatedly hit by society, But the crime work "Twilight Light", which still holds hope for life; the refugee-themed comedy "Le Havre", which is guest starring French rock superstar Bob Jr.; and "The Other Side of Hope", which tells the story of Syrian refugees struggling to survive in Finland with the help of well-wishers.
