Short Track Speed Skating World Cup Japan Men's 1000m Ren Ziwei won China's first gold

On October 31, the 2021-2022 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup japan entered its final day. In the men's 1000 meters, China's Ren Ziwei single-handedly reached the final of Group A and finally won the championship with a time of 1 minute 26.297 seconds.

In the final, Ren Ziwei, who started from the inner road, played well and has been in the leading position. Although Hungary's Liu Shaolin completed the overtaking at the back, he eventually made a mistake and fell off the track. Ren Ziwei maintained his advantage to the finish line, winning the championship with a time of 1:26.297, and also won the first individual gold medal for the Chinese team in this season's World Cup sub-station. Dutch Draat and Canada's Dion finished second and third respectively.

This is Ren Ziwei's second medal in this competition, and he won a silver medal for China in the men's 500m Group A final on October 30.

In the women's 1000m Group A final, Santos of the United States won the championship, and China's Han Yutong and Zhang Chutong stopped in the quarterfinals.

In addition, in the mixed men's and women's 2000 meters relay competition, four Chinese players Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei, Fan Kexin and Zhang Yuting won a silver medal with a time of 2 minutes 43.460 seconds, and the Russian team won the championship.

In the final men's 5000m relay final, the Chinese team composed of Sun Long, Li Wenlong, Wu Dajing and Ren Ziwei maintained the top three positions in the first half of the race, and the Chinese team occupied the first place in the sprint stage, but was overtaken by the Canadian players in the final lap, and finally finished second in 6 minutes 52 seconds 285 seconds, only 0.013 seconds away from the champion Canada team.

So far, the Chinese team in this World Cup has won a total of 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. As a qualifier for the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese team strives to compete for full qualification in the four World Cup events.
