It is worth mentioning that in early October, in order to reduce the impact of chip shortage on the delivery of new cars, Ideal Automobile introduced a special delivery plan of "delivery first and then reload radar". It is reported that the users who originally planned to pick up the car in October and November, because of the supply problem of millimeter-wave radar chips, the delivery experts will communicate with the users one by one, and the users who were originally scheduled to pick up the car in December will not be affected.
The new delivery plan is to deliver a three-radar model with 1 front forward + 2 rear angular millimeter wave radars for users, and to provide users with free reloading from December to the Spring Festival next year. Models equipped with three radars are temporarily not open for automatic parallel and forward crossing vehicle warning, other ADAS functions can be used normally, and the test has been completed, users can use it with confidence, and the late OTA of noA needs to be upgraded after the 5 radar is reloaded.
According to the understanding, users can choose to deliver the 3 radar model in advance or wait until December to deliver the 5 radar model, and the ideal car will arrange the corresponding delivery according to the user's opinion. Ideal Auto has issued an announcement that due to the impact of the new crown epidemic in Malaysia, the special chips used by Ideal Auto's millimeter wave radar suppliers have seriously reduced production. Based on this, ideal cars expect its vehicle deliveries in the third quarter of 2021 to be about 24,500 units, down from the previous outlook of 25,000 to 26,000 vehicles, and reduce expectations by 500 to 1,500 units as chip supply recovers are less than expected.
