NPD Analyst: Console game landing on PC is a "win-win" deal

In October this year, Sony announced that God of War (PS4) would land on the PC platform, which immediately caused a hot discussion. While some players oppose Sony's approach, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella has another set of insights.

Recently, Mat Piscatella tweeted her opinion:

According to NPD Group's PlayerPulse (survey data), only about one-third of PC gamers in the U.S. own pS4 and only 8% of PC gamers own PS5. This creates a large reachable PC audience, which is why launching a PC port is unlikely to impact host-side sales. It's a win-win deal. If you're mad at me because I say , 'There are millions of people playing games on PCs without a PS console,' and (you think) people like to connect to a TV with a console, I don't know what to say to you.

According to foreign media VGC, the publisher name of the PC version of God of War has now been changed to "PlayStation PC LLC", which may mean that Sony will increase its investment in the PC platform.
