"I'm a teacher, and my money is earned from hours and hours of school hours. My own pride is that my watercolor works have won almost all the most important gold medals in the world, but I never sell paintings. I have only one request: don't mention my name at the auction, just say that it was donated by an overseas Chinese. The epidemic in Wuhan this month has made me feel sad every day. Don't let anyone know about the insignificance of my donation this time! The guilt in my heart is that after all, my financial situation is not too good, and I can't donate more. ”
This passage is a self-statement of a donor of Zao Wou-Ki's "Untitled" public welfare auction jointly initiated by Sanlian Life Media, One Way Space and Beijing Lianyi Charity Foundation, and undertaken by iCouncil Kuangshi Online. The hearts of overseas artists that permeate the words are touching.

In the "Life Is Priceless, Art Is Powerful" public welfare auction, a total of 117 works donated from 110 artists and KOLs were divided into four charity auctions: "Modern and Contemporary Art Special", "Cutting-edge Art Special", "Contemporary Famous Calligraphy and Painting Special", "Diversified Art Special", and "Anti-epidemic Charity Sale".
The auction was completed on the evening of February 16, and the final total transaction price was 1.337 million yuan, of which the transaction rate of four charity auctions was as high as 100%.
There are many more touching stories that have taken place at this auction. Dai Ze, a famous artist at the age of 98, donated his watercolor "Hankou Wharf in Wuhan", which was finally sold for 145,000 yuan, the second highest price in the whole venue. Before filming began, Mr. Dai Ze insisted on shooting videos for the event despite his physical troubles, encouraging us to "have love, all things live".
Chen Jianzhou, a post-80s artist born in 1987, donated his oil painting "Tank Battle" and specially recorded a video of the event in sign language to cheer for Wuhan. Perhaps infected by Chen Jianzhou, "Tank Battle" became the most fiercely contested work in the charity auction. The collectors delayed for another 35 minutes after the regular time of the auction ended, and the work was sold for nearly double the estimated price for 45,000 yuan.
The outbreak of the new crown epidemic stemmed from the illegal hunting and consumption of wild animals by individuals, for which marco, the founder of the "useless" brand and clothing designer, donated the jacket "War". The fabric of this coat is hand-woven by a century-old loom, dyed with an ancient plant with a history of more than 400 years, and needs to be dyed repeatedly twenty times, and the dyeing process takes nearly three months. Marco believed that the degree of civilization of society depended on the way humans treated animals. It is now the last moment when humanity must change. At the moment, the pandemic has broken down national and intercontinental boundaries and spread across the world in a week. It now takes all of humanity to work together to make changes in order to reconcile with Mother Earth.
In the end, "War" was successfully sold at a price of 27,000 yuan.

Here, we would like to thank all the collectors who participated in the auction and purchase, and you have supported the frontline medical staff with practical actions. Thank you also to all the partners for your joint efforts to make the project run smoothly.
Starting tomorrow (February 20), all proceeds from this auction will be used through the Beijing Lianyi Charity Foundation for the care and care kit project of medical workers on the front line of wuhan's "war epidemic" to provide personal supplies for frontline medical staff. According to the feedback of frontline anti-epidemic doctors, frontline medical staff need to wash their hands many times a day due to disinfection, resulting in rough hands like "old bark", and the purpose of the Care Art Bag Project is to improve their living conditions and enhance their work comfort.
The first medical care kits arrived in Wuhan
The use of follow-up funds will continue to be disclosed as the project progresses, and you can pay attention to our follow-up WeChat tweets or the official Weibo of Sanlian Life Weekly.
