"Siberian tiger pounces on people" "Siberian tiger slaps the car window with one slap"... On April 23, the news that a wild Siberian tiger had broken into a village in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, attracted public attention. At present, the Siberian tiger has been transferred to the Hengdao River Cat Breeding and Breeding Center in China.
The "Xinhua Viewpoint" reporter learned that in the past six months, Heilongjiang, Jilin and other places have frequently seen wild Siberian tiger tracks, and even "human-tiger encounters". Why does the "great king" frequently "go down the mountain" into the village? How to ensure the safety of people's lives?
At first, they didn't believe it, but later many people saw the tiger enter the village with their own eyes
"When I got up in the morning to work in the garden, I suddenly heard the roar of the animals, which was very frightening. When I ran over, I saw that it was a big tiger. Zhang Shouzhi, a villager in Linhu Village, Baiyuwan Town, Mishan City, said that when he told his family and neighbors to see the tiger, no one believed it. It wasn't until many people saw it with their own eyes that they believed that tigers really came to the village.

At about 6 o'clock on April 23, the border police station of Baiyuwan Town received an alarm that villagers had found a tiger in an abandoned house in Group 10 of Linhu Village, Baiyuwan Town, Mishan City. The police station immediately dispatched police forces to protect the scene and evacuate the crowd.
According to the preliminary determination of experts, this is a wild Siberian tiger. At about 10 o'clock on the same day, the tiger moved north, and at about 11 o'clock, it passed through the farmland from the 10 groups of Linhu Village to the vicinity of the 1 group of Linhu Village, threw down a villager who was working in the field, and also smashed the glass of the nearby vehicle.
The tiger then hid in a ditch next to the village. The relevant departments of Jixi City and Mishan City organized police forces to block the scene and evacuate all local residents to their homes to ensure personal safety.
At about 21:00 on the 23rd, in group 1 of Linhu Village, Baiyuwan Town, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, the police shot anesthesia needles with anesthesia guns, and moved the Siberian tiger into a cage to take away after anesthesia control.
On the 24th, the Siberian tiger was sent to the Hezi Cat Breeding And Breeding Center in Hengdao, China for medical examination. At present, this Siberian tiger has woken up, experts have preliminarily observed that its health is good, and the specific physical examination report has not yet produced results.
Traces of wild Siberian tigers were found in Ning'an, Heilongjiang
Why does the "great king" frequently "go down the mountain"?
Siberian tiger, also known as Siberian tiger, lives in Siberia, Russia, North Korea and northeast China, and is a national protected animal. The "Great King" is not the first time to "go down the mountain". In the past six months, Heilongjiang and Jilin have repeatedly found traces of wild Siberian tigers.
On March 14, the footprints of wild Siberian tigers were found in a plantation near the red clay village of Sanling Township, Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province;
On January 20, police officers and border guards from qingfeng police station of The Mudanjiang Branch of the Public Security Bureau of the Reclamation District Public Security Bureau of Heilongjiang Province found the footprints of wild Siberian tigers on the border line;
On January 11, wild Siberian tiger footprints were found in the Huangnihe Forest Farm of the Forestry Bureau of Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province;
On November 13 last year, the police of the Shajingou Police Station of the Wangqing Forest Public Security Bureau in Jilin Province encountered a wild Siberian tiger while patrolling in the area under their jurisdiction...
Why does the "great king" frequently "go down the mountain"? Zhou Shaochun, director of the Endangered Wildlife Conservation Research Office of the Wildlife Research Institute of heilongjiang Academy of Forestry Sciences, introduced that Mishan City is not within the scope of the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park Conservation Area. On the 23rd, wild Siberian tigers appeared in Mishan City, indicating that the range of activities of Siberian tigers has become larger. At present, the population of Siberian tigers in China is increasing, the range of activities is getting wider and wider, and the frequent appearance of Siberian tigers in many places is a good embodiment of the ecological environment in Northeast China.
It is understood that the cessation of commercial logging of natural forests and the increase in forest coverage have provided an important guarantee for the survival of Siberian tigers. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Heilongjiang Province has completed a total of 388,000 hectares of afforestation, 3.492 million hectares of forest care, the forest coverage rate has increased to 47.3%, and the forest accumulation has increased to 2.24 billion cubic meters.
The establishment of the Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park marks that the protection of Siberian tigers in China has entered a new stage. It is understood that the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park spans Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces, since its inception, the relevant departments have carried out the restoration of habitat vegetation, the restoration of prey populations, afforestation and other protection work, and the scientific research department has also carried out a large number of monitoring and research on the Northeast Tiger.
Zhou Shaochun said that after several years of conservation work, the number of Siberian tigers distributed in Heilongjiang in the Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park now accounts for more than 60% of the population of wild Siberian tigers in Heilongjiang Province. Data provided by Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park shows that there are at least 27 wild Siberian tigers and 42 Siberian leopards in The Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park, and between 2017 and 2019 alone, 10 newly bred Siberian tiger cubs and 7 Siberian leopard cubs have been monitored.
In 2020, wild Siberian tigers were photographed for the first time in the Pilot Area of the Tokyo City Bureau of the Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park Administration. This shows that with the continuous construction of the northeast tiger and leopard national park pilot, the number of tiger and leopard settlement populations has increased, and has begun to spread inland from the border area.
In recent years, the competent department for wildlife protection in Heilongjiang Province has taken various measures such as organizing patrol personnel to increase field patrols and monitoring efforts to strengthen the protection of wild animal populations, and the recovery of wild boar and roe deer populations has ensured the food chain of wild Siberian tigers.
"The increase in conservation publicity is also an important factor in the increase in the population of Siberian tigers." Sun Jixu, an engineer at the Wildlife Monitoring Center of the Heilongjiang Xiaobeihu National Nature Reserve Management Bureau, said that people's awareness of the protection of wild animals is getting stronger and stronger.
"Tiger infestation", what do people do?
With the improvement of the ecological environment, the "frequent guests" of the Siberian tigers also have a great impact on people's lives. While protecting the "King", how to strengthen the protection of the lives and safety of local residents?
It is understood that the person who was thrown down by the Siberian tiger this time is called Li Chunxiang, a villager in the 1st group of Linhu Village in Baiyuwan Town, 50 years old this year, with several wounds of different sizes on his body that have been scratched, and there is no danger to his life, and now he is treated by the Mishan People's Hospital.
"This is the first time I've encountered this kind of thing in so many years of living in the village. At first, many villagers felt strange and went to watch, unaware of the danger. Chen Zhanlong, secretary of the party branch of Linhu Village in Baiyuwan Town, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, said that later he heard that the tiger had pounced on people, and the villagers were a little nervous. After the tiger was controlled by anesthesia, the village briefed the villagers on the situation overnight to calm everyone's emotions.
At present, Linhu Village has resumed production. The local government said it would go door-to-door to distribute safety leaflets to raise villagers' awareness of prevention.
"Because of the proximity to the protected area, there have been cases of livestock being attacked before, so the locals have a certain sense of prevention." If there are traces of suspected Siberian tigers, we will notify the villagers as soon as possible to reduce going out and strengthen precautions. Guan Zhijun, secretary of the party committee of Sanling Township, Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province, said.
In the face of the situation that the Siberian tiger comes to "inspect" from time to time, Liu Dan, chief engineer of the China Hengdao Hezi Cat Breeding and Breeding Center, believes that it is necessary to improve the villagers' own awareness of prevention, fully understand the harm of large beasts, encounter beasts like tigers, do not watch, approach, should be the first time to avoid, and call the police or report to the wildlife protection department.
Liu Dan said that once a tiger mistakenly enters the village because of disorientation, various departments such as public security and wildlife protection should form a joint force and start the emergency rescue mechanism at the first time to ensure that rescue personnel can arrive at the scene as soon as possible.
Some local cadres also suggested that warning signs be set up in villages around the protected area, banners should be hung and leaflets should be distributed to continue to raise the awareness of wildlife protection among the whole people, popularize the common sense of wildlife protection laws, and help people effectively cope with possible "human-tiger encounters".
