China News Network Client, January 19, WTA recently announced the latest issue of the women's singles world rankings. Australian tennis player Ashley Barty remains firmly at the top of the charts, followed by Romania's Simone Halep and Japan's Naomi Osaka.

China News Network Client, January 19, WTA recently announced the latest issue of the women's singles world rankings. Australian tennis player Ashley Barty remains firmly at the top of the charts, followed by Romania's Simone Halep and Japan's Naomi Osaka.

At the top of this issue's list, the one with the strongest upward momentum is Sabalenka. Previously ranked 10th, she overtook Andreescu, Kvitova and Botens to move up to 7th. On February 4, 2019, Sabalenka reached 9th place in the world rankings, which is also her highest ranking before this week. Because of last week's victory in the WTA500 Abu Dhabi race, Sabalenka's world rankings have also climbed.
