Liu Zhiqiang successfully donated hematopoietic stem cells
Bozhou News Network News On the morning of October 28, Liu Zhiqiang, a student of Bozhou College, successfully completed the collection of 206 ml of hematopoietic stem cells, becoming the first college student in our city to successfully donate hematopoietic stem cells.
In November 2018, during a blood donation, Liu Zhiqiang, a 2019 (IV) sports rehabilitation student in the Department of Physical Education of Bozhou University, took a blood sample and became a volunteer in the hematopoietic stem cell donor database.
In August this year, Liu Zhiqiang and a blood disease patient had a successful initial match. "I am very fortunate to have such an opportunity to save other people's lives", Liu Zhiqiang was very excited after learning that the first match was successful. In addition to his busy study, he actively cooperates with high-resolution matching and physical examination work, and strengthens exercise to ensure good health, and donates the most perfect stem cells to patients.
On the morning of October 23, the Municipal Red Cross Society held a ceremony to send Liu Zhiqiang to Hefei to donate hematopoietic stem cells. After the farewell party, Liu Zhiqiang, accompanied by the staff of the Municipal Red Cross Society, went to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University to make preparations before donation. At 8:00 a.m. on October 28, after four days of mobilization injection, the collection officially began, and a relay of life began. At 11:30 a.m., the collection of 206 ml of hematopoietic stem cells was completed.
"The whole donation process is very smooth, and now the biggest hope is to successfully transplant hematopoietic stem cells into the patient's body as soon as possible, hoping that he will recover his health as soon as possible," Liu Zhiqiang said happily after the donation.
Liu Zhiqiang is the 16th hematopoietic stem cell donor in Bozhou, and the first person in our city to donate hematopoietic stem cells to college students.
