Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Yang Lanchun's birth, four generations of old, middle-aged and young people singing "Chaoyanggou" together

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yang Lanchun, the "father of Chaoyanggou", and also coincides with the 32nd annual meeting of the Chinese Opera Modern Drama Research Association. The reporter learned from the press conference held at the Chaoyanggou Theater on the afternoon of the 9th that the Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province, together with the Chinese Opera Modern Drama Research Association, the Henan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Yu Opera Culture Promotion Association, jointly hosted the "Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Yang Lanchun's Birth" and the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Chinese Opera Modern Drama Research Association.

Yang Lanchun is one of the outstanding contemporary modern dramatists in China. Rooted in Henan, he influenced the whole country, created a new artistic path for Chinese opera to express modern life, and directed a large number of modern opera classics that are close to reality, close to life and close to the masses, such as "Chaoyanggou", "Little Erhei Marriage", "Liu Hulan", and finally formed a "modern drama genre".

This event will be held in Zhengzhou from September 16 to 20, aiming to comprehensively summarize Yang Lanchun's aesthetic pursuit and artistic characteristics in the creation of modern opera, as well as his creative practice of modern and contemporary opera and the role of promoting the sustainable development of modern opera, so as to summarize the experience academically, guide Henan's young artistic talents to better inherit and develop, and continue to accelerate the pace of Henan's cultural development and prosperity. The event is divided into four parts: tribute performance, theoretical discussion, field visit and study.

As the "highlight" of this event, the tribute performance part, the three troupes of Henan Yu Theater will present three performances of "Chongdugou", "Chaoyanggou" and "Concert to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Yang Lanchun's Birth" at the People's Hall of Henan Province from September 16 to September 18.

Among them, what the audience is most looking forward to is that the four generations of old, middle-aged and young people jointly performed Mr. Yang Lanchun's representative work "Chaoyanggou" on the same stage. Most people have only seen one or two versions of "Chaoyanggou", and it is even more rare for more than three characters such as Silver Ring, Chain Bao, Silver Ring Niang, and Tether Bao Niang to perform on the same stage in a performance, and the age span of the actors is above 60 years old.

"'People's Yang Lanchun' - Concert to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Yang Lanchun's Birth" is a gathering of famous artists and a strong performance lineup. The concert featured a variety of performances such as classical singing, symphonic chorus, instrumental performance, and episodic poetry recitation, all of which were selected from Mr. Yang Lanchun's representative works, presenting Mr. Yang Lanchun's creative concept, artistic style and spiritual value to the greatest extent. This performance will be hosted by Zhang Zequn, a famous host of CCTV. The Chinese Opera Modern Drama Research Association will also hold a medal awarding ceremony for the three troupes of Henan Yu Theater in the concert of "Chinese Opera Modern Opera Creation Base".

In the theoretical discussion part, on September 17, nearly 100 experts from all over the country and in the industry will discuss and summarize the three themes of "Yang Lanchun's Spiritual Heritage", "Yu Opera's 'Three Groups Phenomenon'" and "The Contemporary Value of the Public Servant Trilogy for the Inheritance and Development of Yu Opera".

On September 18, expert representatives from all over the country and representatives of the main organizers will go to The Yanglanchun Cultural Park in Dengfeng Chaoyanggou Village to pay their respects, after which a meeting of the directors of the Chinese Opera Modern Drama Research Association will be held. In addition, after watching "Chongdugou", experts visited and studied in the Scenic Area of Chongdugou in Luanchuan, and walked into the scene of the play at close range to feel Chongdugou.

According to reports, this performance activity is a full public welfare performance, which will be carried out online and offline at the same time.
