Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the list of China's beautiful leisure villages in 2021 and the qualified list of China's beautiful leisure villages in 2010-2017. Among them, 8 villages in Yunnan were selected into the 2021 China Beautiful Leisure Village Publicity List, and 18 villages were selected into the 2010-2017 China Beautiful Leisure Village Monitoring Qualified Publicity List.
Among them, Majiaying Village, Xizhuang Town, Jianshui County, Honghe Prefecture, is planned to be selected into the list of China's Beautiful Leisure Villages in 2021, and Ant Village in Xisan Town, Mile City, Tuanshan Village in Xizhuang Town, Jianshui County, Xinfang Village in Xizhuang Town, Jianshui County, and Zhenmen Village in Santang Township, Luxi County, are in the 2010-2017 China Beautiful Leisure Village Monitoring Qualified Publicity List.

What are the advantages of the proposed Majiaying Village?
Majiaying Village is located in Xizhuang Town, Jianshui County, the village has many ancient houses, ancestral halls, temples and other ancient buildings, retaining the traditional Chinese Han residential style, exquisite architectural decoration, stone carving, wood carving and other carvings are vivid. There are also two ancient wells with a long history in the village, and in 2014, Majiaying Village was declared to become the third batch of traditional Chinese villages.
Majiaying village has beautiful mountains and rivers, many wells and springs, and lush forests behind the village, which are evergreen all year round. The village is lined with trees and birds. In front of the village, the lujiang river flows slowly from west to east, and the scenery is beautiful.
Majiaying Village sits south to north, facing the river, most of the houses are laid out along the foot of the hill behind the village, and some houses are built on the mountainside behind the village. The formation of the village's housing pattern and traditional residential buildings has benefited from the prosperity of the old tin industry and the rise of railway transportation in Yunnan and Vietnam. Majiaying Village was originally a natural village where houses do not connect with each other, due to the development of social history and the increase in population reproduction, the houses are connected into pieces, connected into lines, basically showing a mountain and river, a long ribbon of "pearl series" distribution trend, jianshui folk called "golden line hanging gourd" village distribution pattern.
Majiaying Village is rich in historical and cultural resources, with more than 20 well-preserved historical buildings. The village has a large number of courtyard houses, ancient wells, ancient trees, bluestone slab traditional roadways with a large number, diverse types and large scale patterns, most of which were built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Min dynasty. The ancient buildings in the village are composed of three types: the traditional Han green brick courtyard, the Yi tu palm house and the Han and Yi combined tile eaves earth palm house, with a grand scale, simple exterior and exquisite interior, which is a typical example of residential architecture in southern Yunnan and reflects the architectural characteristics of multi-ethnic settlements. These buildings are not known for their grand scale, but for their compact, beautifully decorated and intricate artistic carvings.
Walking into Majiaying Village, the exquisite architecture is antique, exuding a strong classical atmosphere, the idyllic scenery in front of the house and behind the house is beautiful, and the rural historical and cultural landscape and the pastoral landscape blend with each other, becoming a scenery with a very historical and cultural atmosphere.
