Recently, the Provincial Department of Commerce has formulated the "Gansu Time-honored Brand" Identification Management Specification (Trial) (hereinafter referred to as the "Specification"), which clarifies and regulates the aspects of historical inheritance, corporate culture, regional characteristics, influence, and credibility.
"Gansu time-honored brand" has the conditions for recognition
Protecting, inheriting, creating market awareness, allowing consumers to widely recognize, stimulating and releasing the positive role of long-established brands in expanding domestic demand, stabilizing growth, promoting consumption, benefiting people's livelihood, etc., and promoting the sustainable innovation and development of brands, which is the original intention of managers to formulate "identification management norms".
What is "Gansu Time-honored Brand"? According to the "Norms", it refers to a brand that has a long history in the administrative region of Gansu, has a long history, has been passed down from generation to generation, has a distinct traditional cultural background and profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation or Gansu region, has obtained wide recognition from the society, and formed a good reputation.
The object of "Gansu Time-honored Brand" is the enterprise in the field of commerce and trade circulation that is registered and operated normally within the administrative division of Gansu Province. The principle of determination is to adhere to the principles of government advocacy, voluntary declaration by enterprises, and openness, fairness and impartiality.
Only the name (brand) with the following 7 requirements can be recognized as a time-honored brand in Gansu Province: the Gansu time-honored brand identification specification formulated by the Provincial Department of Commerce includes more than 40 years (inclusive) of the establishment of the brand name (brand); the historical inheritance is clear, the inheritance of unique products, skills or services, the corporate culture that highlights the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, the characteristics of the Chinese nation and the regional characteristics of Gansu; the historical value and cultural value, with good reputation; the influence is in the leading position in the same industry, and it is widely recognized and praised by the society Law-abiding operation and complete registration procedures and fixed business premises; relative holding of domestic capital and capital in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan; good operating conditions, with strong sustainable development capabilities and other 7 aspects.
The "Specification" makes it clear that the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce shall organize the identification and management of "Gansu Time-honored Brand", and the Provincial Department of Commerce shall organize industry experts to identify candidate enterprises, and enterprises that have been identified as "China Time-honored Brand" by the Ministry of Commerce will naturally enjoy the "Gansu Time-honored Brand" certification after submitting an application. At the same time, enterprises that intend to declare "Gansu time-honored brands" submit declaration materials and report them to the municipal department of commerce where they are located. The Municipal (State) Bureau of Commerce may, as appropriate, increase the competent department of commerce of the county and district as the preliminary examination unit, and the Provincial Department of Commerce shall organize industry experts to conduct a final review of the materials submitted by the Municipal (State) Bureau of Commerce, conduct on-site investigation of the relevant content as appropriate, and when necessary, solicit the opinions of relevant government departments such as market supervision and cultural tourism, and put forward the opinions of the identification.
Enterprises and brands that are to be identified as "Gansu time-honored brands" have no objections or objections are not established during the publicity period, the Provincial Department of Commerce shall make a decision and identify them as "Gansu time-honored brands". For the "Gansu time-honored brand" that has passed the certification, the Provincial Department of Commerce will issue plaques and certificates.
Enterprises must cherish the reputation of "Gansu time-honored brand"
The "Specification" makes it clear that if a "Gansu time-honored brand" enterprise has tarnished the credibility of the "Gansu time-honored brand" and its products are shoddily manufactured to harm the interests of consumers (users); it indiscriminately grants permits to buy and sell the "Gansu time-honored brand" logo in disguise; if it transfers the "Gansu time-honored brand" logo and fails to file a record with the local department of commerce in writing, makes relevant explanations and solicits opinions, and other violations of laws, regulations, and rules, any person may report to the Provincial Department of Commerce and order it to make corrections within a time limit after verification; if the circumstances are serious, revoke its "Gansu time-honored brand" Titles and published on relevant government websites or in the media.
The validity period of "Gansu Time-honored Brand" is five years. Where a long-established enterprise does not meet the requirements for the identification of "Gansu Time-honored Brand" after major changes, after verification and confirmation, the Provincial Department of Commerce may suspend or cancel its title of "Gansu Time-honored Brand" and announce it to the public.
The holders of the "Gansu Time-honored Brand" who have been identified enjoy the right to standardize the use of the "Gansu Time-honored Brand" logo in the packaging, decoration, instructions and advertisements of the corresponding products, techniques and services. No unit or individual may forge or fraudulently use the "Gansu Time-honored Brand" logo.
Gansu has 14 "Chinese time-honored brands"
"Time-honored brand" is a local symbol and cultural symbol, but also the accumulation of tradition, but also a symbol of the industry's characteristics, flavor, history and humanities.
The reporter learned that in August 2008, in the book "Gansu Time-honored Brand" compiled by the Gansu Time-honored Brand Editorial Committee and published by the Gansu People's Publishing House, nearly 200 enterprises and units in Gansu Province were included in Gansu's time-honored brand, including petrochemical, metallurgical minerals, machine manufacturing, coal and electricity, transportation, building materials, arts and crafts, tobacco brewing, drug purchase and sales, hotel catering, food production, flavor snacks, grain and oil processing, agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, material supply and marketing, textile washing and dyeing, photographic haircuts and other more than 20 industries.
"China Time-honored Brand" is issued by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and only awards products, skills or services with a long history, inherited from generation to generation, with distinct Chinese national traditions and profound cultural heritage.
Since 2006, the Ministry of Commerce has implemented the "Revitalization of Time-honored Brands Project" throughout the country, and the five "time-honored brands" of Lanzhou Jingyanglou Catering Co., Ltd., Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Lanzhou Tianshengyuan Food Industry Co., Ltd., Tianshui Feitian Carving Lacquer Craft Furniture Co., Ltd., and Gansu Hongchuan Liquor Co., Ltd. in Gansu Province have been identified as the first batch of "Chinese Time-honored Brands".
In 2011, 9 brands in Gansu Province won the second batch of "China Time-honored Brands" title, namely Gansu Jinhui Liquor Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Jinhui), Gansu Binhe Jiuliang Liquor Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Binhe), Pingliang New Century Liuhuchun Liquor Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Kuntong), Gansu Wujiu Liquor Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Wujiu), Longxi Jinhua Welfare Meat Products Company (registered trademark: Zuchi), Gansu Longxi Weishui Liquor Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Weishui), Lanzhou Yuebinlou Catering and Entertainment Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Yuebinlou), Lanzhou Mazilu Beef Noodle Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Mazilu), Jiuquan Jingyu Craft Co., Ltd. (registered trademark: Jiuquan).
There are 30 "Jincheng Time-honored Brands" in Lanzhou

In 2020, the Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce awarded the first batch of "Jincheng Time-honored Brands", which were selected in the 1950s, with a long operating time, good operating conditions, high market recognition and widely recognized by consumers, and the 10 "Jincheng Time-honored Brands" awarded were: Peace Hotel, Lanzhou Hotel, Ningwozhuang Hotel, Renmin Hotel, Yingbin Hotel, Hongbin Building, Qingyaju, Zhangye Road Sweet Shop, Lanzhou Photo Studio, and People's Hair Salon. In April of the same year, in the second batch of "Jincheng Time-honored Brand" award, 18 enterprises in Lanzhou were listed, namely: Geological Hotel, Daqiao Hotel, Ganlan Hotel, Hongyun Hotel, Yellow River Hotel, Jianlan Hotel, Philharmonic Manor, Du Weicheng Gray Bean King, Duan Ji Marinated Meat, Lele Restaurant, Muslim Restaurant, Goshawk Beef Noodles, Chen Ji Beef Noodles, Lanqingge Beef Noodles, Ma Youbu Beef Noodles, Ma Youcai Beef Noodles, Lu Manli Beauty, Yimden Washing and Dyeing Shop. There are also two enterprises, not only awarded the honor of "Chinese time-honored brand", but also "Jincheng time-honored brand", namely: Tianshengyuan and Foci Pharmaceutical.
