According to the surging news, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea sentenced Lee Sang-hoon, chairman of the board of directors of Samsung Electronics, to 18 months in prison for violating the Korean trade union law. Lee Sang-hoon and about 25 defendants were charged with sabotaging union activities of employees in Samsung's electronics repair division. To varying degrees, Samsung's management and employees have been involved in collecting sensitive personal information about union members. Samsung Electronics did not comment.
