Even more in the early 1950s, the coalition forces of Western countries were severely beaten on the Korean Peninsula, and Western countries intensified their isolation of our country.
And if someone is isolated, someone cooperates. Many countries in Africa have welcomed New China very much, and Tanzania is one of them. On April 26, 1964, China established diplomatic relations with Tanzania. In order to express China's principle of friendly and peaceful coexistence, China has begun to provide assistance to Tanzania.
Tanzania was originally a British colony, and after the end of World War II, the wave of national liberation movements hit, and Tanzania was formed by The United Independence of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. At that time, Tanzania had just been merged, the domestic situation was chaotic, there was almost no economic industry, and the country was very poor. In order to get rid of the chaotic situation of poverty in the country, Tanzania decided to work with neighboring Zambia to build the Zamtan Railway. However, the ideal is very full, and the reality is very bone! Not only do they have no technology, they have no funds, and they can't do anything but dry eyes. At that time, China urgently needed to seek a breakthrough in the international arena and confront the isolated hegemony of the United States.
It just so happened that China won Tanzania's support by helping to build the railway, which opened the era of Sino-Tanzanian friendship diplomacy. China began to send technicians and funds to help them build the railway, and the people of Tanzania felt the friendship and sincerity of the Chinese, and even after the completion of the Zantan Railway, they were reluctant to leave Chinese.
After the completion of the railway, Tanzania began to pacify the rebel forces in the country. However, the strength of the African army at that time, they themselves knew. So the President of Tanzania wants my country to help train their troops. Because it was the President himself who requested it, my country acceded to that request.
Many of our military cadres were sent to Tanzania, and when they first came into contact with the Tanzania Defence Force, our personnel once thought it was their militia guerrilla. They have no discipline at all, and many do not know how to use weapons correctly. It was only after repeated confirmation by our personnel that we had to accept this fact.
Our personnel were shocked and still had to complete the task. In order to make the Tanzanian army have combat effectiveness, it is first necessary to rectify discipline. The three major disciplines and eight attentions began to spread among the Tanzanian army; treating the people and not taking a needle and a thread from the masses was also required to become iron discipline, which made the Tanzanian army a little dissatisfied, because in their view, the army should exploit the people. Our personnel have also moved the training mode of the People's Liberation Army to Tanzania, whether it is training exercises or internal affairs regulations, from weapons and equipment to strategy and tactics, the Tanzanian army has been trained by many people in the shadow of the People's Liberation Army. With China's continuous military assistance to Tanzania, the Tanzania Defense Force has equipped a large number of Chinese army equipment. Speaking of the Utan War, let's start with Uganda. On 25 January 1971, Ugandan Army Commander Amin staged a coup d'état to establish the Amin regime. After Amin came to power, he persecuted the people in the country, and the Ugandan people did not have a good life. By early October 1978, Amin had nearly been assassinated, so he shifted his anger to the former president of Tanzania and Tanzania.
As a result, on October 30, 1978, Amin suddenly declared war on Tanzania, and more than 70,000 Ukrainian troops quickly captured many Tanzanian territories. Due to the suddenness of the incident, Tanzania had not yet organized an effective defense, and the Karagai district fell within a few days. Amin also declared: "A great historic victory has been achieved. Not only that, but Amin also provoked Tanzanian President Nyerere to go to the ring to box, and if Nyerere won, he would return the occupied land. Not only that, Amin also considered Nyerere's old age and frailty, and was willing to let him tie a lead block with one hand and two legs to fight.
This greatly insulted Nyerere, and immediately began to mobilize the entire strength of the Wehrmacht, gathering nearly 100,000 defensive troops to resist the Attack of the Ukrainian Army, while Nyerere also invited Chinese military advisers to help direct the battle. By the end of 1978, the Tanzanian army had expelled all Ukrainian troops from Tanzania. Due to the many atrocities committed by the Ukrainian army in Tanzania, Nyerere decided to completely overthrow the Amin regime. So the anti-Amin group joined forces to start a counter-offensive against Uganda.
In January 1979, more than 10,000 Tanzanian troops, supported by Type 59 tanks and J-6 and J-7 fighters, officially launched a counteroffensive. More than 10,000 soldiers, with the help of tank cover and excellent military quality, broke the Ukrainian defense line. At this time, the morale of the Tanzanian army was high and unstoppable, but the Ukrainian army was scattered and had no fighting spirit to speak of. By March, the Tanzanian army was approaching Kampala, uganda's capital.
At this point, Amin panicked, and he began to look around for allies, hoping to support him, and promised a whole bunch of benefits. However, other countries saw that Amin was the end of the crossbow, and no one paid attention to him. Just when Amin was desperate, Qaddafi, known as the "King of Kings", was willing to help Amin, and Amin was grateful and almost prostrated.
Gaddafi intervened in the Utan War, and he sent a 2,500-strong Libyan army to confront the Tanzanian army with a series of advanced Soviet weapons such as T-54s, T-55 tanks, Katyusha rockets, and MiG-21 fighter jets. The arrival of the Libyan army did greatly relieve the pressure on the Ukrainian army, but soon the Libyan army felt that the battle was getting more and more difficult, and after some investigation, it was found that they were fighting in the front, but the Ukrainian army was constantly retreating in the rear to plunder wealth, and even joined the camp of the Tanzanian army. Gaddafi scolded the Ukrainian army for not being a climate, and they were all stupid pigs. Gaddafi hurriedly ordered the troops to be withdrawn, but by this time it was too late.
In the northern marshland of Kampala, the Tanzanian army defeated the Libyan T-55 tank force in the Lukaya swamp because of the Chinese-aided Type 62 light tanks and the Type 63 waterway tank, and Libya was defeated and began to flee. The remnants of Libya fled to Kampala airport to evacuate.
After the Battle of Lukaya, the Tanzanians took advantage of the victory and captured Kampala, the capital of Uganda, in April. Subsequently, all the airfields in Uganda were destroyed, and the last hopes of the Libyan army to flee were dashed, and they had no choice but to surrender to the Tanzanian army. Gaddafi returned home in front of the East African Liberation Army. Amin fled overseas, the regime was completely overthrown, and the Utan War ended in Tanzania's complete victory.
