Jiang Wei remembers his father describing the injury when he said: "One bullet on the left shoulder and one bullet in the right arm, but it didn't hit the middle." Jiang Wei felt that it might be his father's fate and escape from death. Jiang Wei's father told him that during the Liberation War, of the 12 young men from the same village, in the same batch, and who participated in the revolutionary contingent at the same time, only his father, Jiang Qingyun, was the only survivor who returned alive after the victory in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
