Sun Qifeng was fond of calligraphy at an early age and had to be trained in court. Both his grandfather and father were famous for their ability to write well, so they were deeply influenced by Kaoru. After Sun Qifeng went to primary school, he studied Yan and Zhao Kaifa, which was praised by the teacher Mr. Hao Guoxuan, who was good at writing Cursive Writing of He Shaoji, which had a great influence on Mr. Sun and made him more interested in calligraphy.
Sun Qifeng's artistic cultivation is comprehensive, his paintings are famous for flowers, feathers, and landscapes, and his calligraphy is good at all kinds of calligraphy in jinwen, small seals, lishu, cursive calligraphy, and xingshu, among which cursive writing, lishu, and the highest attainments, the teacher is ancient but not muddy, and can appreciate the ancient law and practice novelty.

He is good at landscape, flowers and birds, calligraphy, seal engraving, and also has the history of painting and painting theory, and has served as the vice president of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, the director of the Department of Painting and Technology, the vice chairman of Tianjin Calligraphers Association, the director of China Artists Association, and the director of China Calligraphers Association. He is currently a tenured professor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, a director of Xiling Printing Society, the honorary chairman of Tianjin Artists Association, the president of Tianjin Haihe Printing Society, and the president of Beijing Chinese Painting Research Institute.
