I, whose name is Jack, am an international student from the south of the United Kingdom, currently studying at the University of Chinese, about to graduate, ready to develop in China, because I see a very different temperament between China and the United Kingdom: positive, upward, vigorous, exuberant, and look forward to making additional contributions to the cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Because of trade, my father came to China many times, he once said to me: the future is in China, the British industry has been hollowed out, only the financial industry that supports a few people, you have to go to China to find opportunities, to find the real life, at that time I was dismissive, felt that it was not in line with what the domestic media said, until I saw square dance in China and completely changed my view.
A square dance that seems to you to be very inconspicuous and a little annoying can see the mentality of a nation: never obey the old, never accept defeat, and people will win the day. It may be a little noisy, but it also represents that the elderly in China want a healthy body, not to drag down their children, not to drag down the social security system, really great, but also admirable.
In the Uk and many countries in Western Europe, the elderly generally like to go to the nursing home to spend the rest of their lives, eat on time, take medicine on time, can only sit in the room to watch TV, walk in the yard, completely isolated from society,
Consumes a lot of social resources, to put it mildly, to spend money to go to jail. The elderly in the West psychologically bear the pain and loneliness of their children and grandchildren away, and look forward to seeing their children and grandchildren come to visit all the time, but the cultural traditions of Westerners make the elderly in nursing homes unable to say anything.
About 2,000 years ago, the ancient Roman Tacitus had a foresight to see that the Germanic tribes on the border of the Roman Empire were poor, but they were proactive and willing to have more children, and once warned the elders of the Roman Empire who were immersed in luxurious life to pay attention to this group of Germanic tribes, but the empire was eventually replaced by Germanic tribes.
Today's East also has such an enterprising mentality, whether it is the square dance of the elderly or the overtime culture of young people, on the other hand, it is a great sacrifice culture, which is what we British people lack, and I sincerely hope that this kind of square dance culture can be introduced to the United Kingdom as soon as possible, because it can bring long-lost positive energy to our society, and the West is very much needed.
