They use their spare time to guide public toilets, effectively supplementing the management strength of public toilets and improving the infrastructure construction and management service level of public toilets.

Every day, Ma Jie, the "director" of the public toilet in Qiandao Lake Xiushui Square, and Long Zhangrong, a cleaner, have to carry out three-step cleaning operations such as flushing, washing and wiping the public toilets without dead ends, and conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities such as fans, barrier-free signs, pagers, and faucets. The meticulous inspection work has also laid a good foundation for the ongoing reconstruction of barrier-free facilities, and achieved the effect of "1+1>2" through the linkage of "cleaner + director". "The development of the 'director system' of public toilets has better protected the toilet environment and improved the quality of standardized management of public toilets." Fang Jin, deputy director of the Chun'an County Sanitation And Security Center, said that the "director system" of public toilets implements the requirements of urban management refinement, which is conducive to carrying forward the pioneering and exemplary role of party members and cadres and the spirit of hard work and innovation.

In fact, the "director system" of public toilet management has long been "rooted and sprouted" in Hangzhou. The reporter learned from the Sanitation Solid Waste Center of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau that since 2018, Hangzhou has piloted the exploration of the "director system" of public toilet management in Shangcheng District (formerly Jianggan District) and Xiaoshan District, and mobilized the party members and cadres of the urban management department, industry enterprises and town streets and villages to "claim" one or more public toilets as "directors". On the public toilet management board with the "director", in addition to the opening hours, cleaning time, custodial unit, cleaning staff and other information, there is also the name and contact number of the "director". The problems that the on-site cleaning staff cannot solve, the "directors" will keep up with them in time and implement the rectification feedback problems through their own management functions.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Sanitation Solid Waste Center of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the "director" of public toilets, as the backbone of front-line business in the past three years, has not only undertaken some inspection, cleaning, maintenance and other work, but also provided specific and practical business guidance for public toilet management from many aspects. Next, the "director system" of public toilets will be extended to the long-term operation and management of rural public toilets, and promote the in-depth development of the "toilet revolution".
