From the moment I knew that the film "Chosin Lake" began, there were too many questions lingering in my heart, and even I was both expectant and afraid of this movie! Expect, it's a film that tells the history well; fear, it can't do it.
These questions and complicated emotions ended in the fact that after the screening of "Chosin Lake", the audience spontaneous applause and the end credits rolled for a long time but still no one was willing to leave.

I think this is everyone's greatest recognition and respect for this movie, because the movie almost perfectly answers a lot of people's questions, why should we go to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea? After all, where there is war, there are sacrifices. Can the new China, which is in ruins and awaiting rejuvenation, still be able to withstand a contest with the world's strongest army at that time?
As for why this battle is fought, the film gives the answer from four dimensions:
First, the dimension of the state
On September 15, 1950, United Nations forces, mainly American troops, landed at Inchon, South Korea, and quickly approached the 38th Parallel. The "38th Line" was the temporary dividing line between two regimes of the same ethnic group but different political systems in Korea and North Korea at that time. Crossing the 38th Line constitutes the fact of aggression against Korea, and if Korea is occupied, it will directly threaten our country. ”
Chairman Mao (Tang Guoqiang) explained in the most concise language the meaning of having to participate in the war: "Fight with one punch, so as not to come with a hundred punches"!
In fact, this is also Chairman Mao's interpretation of the profound wisdom left by his ancestors for the broad masses of the people and officers and soldiers in the simplest language, and the relationship between the state and war in the "Sima Law" of the Spring and Autumn Period has long been summarized:
Although the country is great, it will perish if it is belligerent; although the world is safe, if it forgets the war, it will be dangerous
This sentence not only dialectically analyzes the relationship between war and the rise and fall of the state, but also accurately reflects the difference between the two sides of this war: who is righteous and who is unjust?
In my opinion, the former is most appropriate to describe the US military, because it is proud of its strong national strength and frequent wars will eventually suffer bitter consequences; the latter fully explains the reasons for our country's military dispatch, and its recklessness and sloppiness will lead to the loss of divisions and land (loss of troops and national territory), and even the end of the country's destruction and family.
Therefore, the wisdom of the ancestors emphasized that neither "belligerent" nor "forgetful war", back to this war, that is to say, our correct attitude should be "cautious war" but must not be "afraid of war"!
Because the facts are right in front of us, the US planes have bombed China's Anton (present-day Dandong, Liaoning), and under the circumstance that China's territorial security and people's lives are seriously threatened, evasion cannot solve any problem.
It is true that New China has just been born, and the people of Chinese have already suffered too much from war, and we certainly long for peace and hate war. But our "aversion to war" is by no means the same as "fear of war." And the best way to avoid war is if you want to fight that battle, not to say it is unpredictable. (Meaning "Don't say in the future that I haven't told you beforehand")
Specifically, in this war, under the repeated warnings to the United States that if they crossed the 38th Line, they would send troops, and in October, the Chinese Volunteer Army went to Korea at the request of North Korea to participate in the war.
Second, the dimension of home
Just after the liberation war, wu Qianli (Wu Jing), the commander of the Seventh Company, returned to his hometown with the ashes of his brother Wu Baili martyr, and learned that the government had divided the land for his parents who had lived on the ship all their lives, he ate the family's meals, and finally looked forward to a peaceful and stable day, imagining building a house for the family, and then marrying a daughter-in-law to his younger brother Wu Wanli (Yi Qianxi), and at this time he was urgently recalled to the army and prepared to go to the DPRK.
At the mobilization meeting, the commander of the corps, Song Shilun (Zhang Hanyu), spoke another big vernacular to the vast number of soldiers, which was also a big truth. Even from everyone's small home, he explained the meaning of having to participate in the war: "This land has been given to us, and we can't let people take it back." ”
This is a truth that every ordinary Chinese people understand: there is grain in their hands, and there is no panic in their hearts. After a hundred years of suffering and war, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the new China was established, and we have just lived a life when the cultivators have their own land and the residents have their houses. Aren't the people's children and soldiers the children of the common people?
Just like mao Anying (huang Xuan) said in the movie when he asked Peng Zong (zhou Xiaobin) to let him go to the front line: The children of ordinary people's families go to the battlefield with a single word, why can't I?
In the movie "Chosin Lake", there is not only Wu Qianli, Wu Wanli's small family, but also a newly established country; the big people have the overall consideration of the big people, and the small people have the oath of the small people to protect them. Through several small plots, the film also clearly tells everyone from different perspectives that we cannot look at the choice of history from the current perspective, and the significance of resisting the United States and aiding Korea and defending the country must be understood and remembered.
Third, the dimension of the future
Younger brother Wu Wanli also wanted to follow his brother Wu Qianli to the front line, and Wu Qianli said: "The boss (Wu Baili) said, we both fought all the battles that should be fought, and we will not let you fight!" ”
One sentence made me instantly break my guard and my eyes moistened. Because this line writes this character too vividly: one is to make people feel the protection and love of the brother when they are brothers; the other is to explain the original intention of fighting this battle from the warrior himself in another dimension - to protect the beautiful future that everyone looks forward to!
Mei Sheng (Zhu Yawen), the instructor of the Seventh Company who had been demobilized, knew that this war was inevitable and gave up demobilization and returned to the team with his daughter's photo. Company Commander Wu Qianli asked him why? He said:
"I want my daughter to live in a time without war"
In a word, break the defense again!
The great sacrifice of their generation was to make a clean deal in their hands, so that future generations would no longer be threatened by war.
I remember watching a documentary that interviewed the volunteer soldiers of that year, and after listing the huge equipment gap between the Perfect Army and us, the reporter asked the old man: How did you make up your mind to fight this battle with such a huge disparity in strength?
I still remember the old man saying lightly: When it's your turn, you have to go up.
In fact, whether it is from the country, from home, or from the three dimensions of the future, it is finally summarized as the sentence "Fight with one punch, so as not to have a hundred punches."
The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and defend the homeland is really to fight a war, so as not to have a hundred battles, and to fight for the peaceful development of New China for 71 years, and now 71 years have passed, but the courage of our sons and daughters of China must not drift away with the wind! Only when we are ready to take our turn, it is possible that we will never be on wheel.
Fourth, the dimension of cinema
It is better to say that the movie "Chosin Lake" filmed this war, but it is better to say that "Chosin Lake" led the audience into this war! First of all, from the telling of the story, "Chosin Lake" seems to be alive, because the rhythm of the narrative maintains a relaxed sense of breathing from beginning to end.
The story unfolds from the perspective of the seven companies led by company commander Wu Qianli to enter the DPRK and participate in the war, and the volunteer soldiers have been encountering life and death problems since they boarded the train into the DPRK, and then quickly and tragically solved the problems.
The train was bombed by enemy planes, and the volunteer soldiers had to discard most of their rations and quickly move into the mountains and forests to hide. Before it was time to relax, the next life-and-death problem that escalated the difficulty was thrown in front of the eyes, and on the way to escort the radio, the seven companies encountered brother troops besieged by the US army, and the rescue was divided to win a thrilling encounter.
Between battles, the audience was able to follow the warriors for a short rest, get a short and precious cheerful time, and further feel the cuteness of the warriors, but the hot meal just entered the mouth and received the order to enter the deep mountains and old forests of minus 40 degrees to fight, and the cotton clothes had not yet been taken by the enemy to bomb again...
Nervous, worried, and full of determination to overcome difficulties, the audience stumbled forward with The Seventh Company. And because of the gradual understanding of them and more worried about the dangers of the next battle, this rhythm undoubtedly brings the audience into a most real state of combat and nervousness, both worried that the time is too fast to complete the task, but also worried about whether the time is too slow warriors can get out of danger, in this extremely contradictory mood, three hours pass in a flash, unfinished, even unable to fully come out, want to continue to follow the seven companies into the next battle.
This is also a reason why the end credits described at the beginning of the article have been scrolling for a long time but still no one is willing to leave the scene, although the film has ended, but the feeling to the audience is that the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea is far from over, and the safety of the soldiers of the Seventh Company still affects the hearts of the audience.
It was a kind of stamina that allowed everyone to breathe with the Seven Companies and all the volunteer soldiers. Because in the 1950s, they were just a bunch of ordinary young people in their youth.
The movie "Chosin Lake" reminds our young people today from the dimension of the film itself: it was the group of young people of that era who risked burying their bones in a foreign country and guarded the freedom and happiness of this group of young people in our time.
There is a picture in the movie, which is particularly beautiful, beautiful to the point where people are breathtaking, beautiful to the point where no one does not shed tears.
On the way to the front line by train, the train door was opened by Wu Wanli, and suddenly they and the audience were greeted by a magnificent river and mountain of the motherland and the Great Wall.
This group of volunteer soldiers who look at the mountains and rivers of the motherland are the most lovely people who guard this great river and mountain and do not allow others to invade every inch.
It was only when a few people ate a frozen potato that they had the opportunity to worry about what to eat for our three meals today, and it was in the cold that they only wore a single suit to fight the enemy heroically, and they maintained a fighting posture when they were frozen and sacrificed.
Many of them never have the opportunity to see how beautiful and magnificent the splendid mountains and rivers they guard are now, they can't see them so that we can see them, and whether it is 71 years later, or in the distant future, we must be able to see them. National Day walked into the cinema to watch "Chosin Lake" and pay tribute to the martyrs!
