International organizations and consular officials in China hope to deepen cooperation on big data with China

Guiyang, May 27 (China News Service) -- The 2021 China International Big Data Industry Expo (2021 Digital Expo) is being held in Guizhou, where SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov said that the successful implementation of big data and artificial intelligence-related technologies will open up new development opportunities for developing countries. The development of big data in Guizhou has achieved amazing results, and the SCO Secretariat is willing to work with Guizhou to promote cooperation between the two sides to achieve new and greater results with the Digital Expo as a link.

At present, China is accelerating its progress from a data power to a data power. Statistics show that in 2020, the scale of China's digital economy reached 39.2 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 3.3 trillion yuan over the previous year, accounting for 38.6% of GDP, an increase of 2.4 percentage points year-on-year, and the digital economy accelerated in the adverse trend.

Vladimir Norov said that the SCO, which accounts for 60 percent of eurasia and nearly half of the world's population, currently attaches great importance to cooperation in areas such as IT, the digital economy, artificial intelligence and more.

Consular officials from many countries in China who participated in the 2021 Digital Expo also expressed their expectation to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China's big data and work together to seek common development.

Kong Sizhe, consul general of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chongqing, said that although the Netherlands is small in size, it is a major exporter of agricultural products in the world, because the Netherlands uses a lot of high technology in agricultural development, such as the use of artificial intelligence for agricultural planting, the use of satellite technology to take care of farmland, etc. At present, China's big data is developing rapidly, and in the future, we hope to strengthen discussions and cooperation with China and Guizhou in the field of big data agriculture.

"There are many opportunities for cooperation between Germany and China, and this time I came to the Digital Expo to make this opportunity a reality." Lu Wugang, Consul General of the German Consulate General in Chengdu, who visited Guizhou for the third time, said that Germany has a lot of experience in the development and application of big data, and Germany and China can learn from each other, and can also work together to strengthen the development of vocational education and cultivate more big data professionals.

In the view of Fan Wenfei, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China's big data has developed rapidly, especially in some areas of big data applications, such as big data + Internet economy, which has emerged internationally, and in the future, China will tap the potential of big data and strengthen international cooperation.
