The Torch Relay for the 14th Games and The Paralympic Games ended in Xi'an

Beijing, 13 Sep (CNBC) -- According to the "News and Newspaper Summary" of the Voice of China of the Central Radio and Television Corporation, the last stop of the torch relay activities of the 14th National Games, the 11th Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics Games was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, on 12 September.

At 10:27 a.m., Wu Yanan, the image ambassador of the 14th Games and Paralympic Games who served as the last torchbearer of the torch relay, came to the central square of the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center with the torch and lit the sacred brazier, marking the successful conclusion of the torch relay activities of the 14th Games and The Special Olympics.

Wu Yanan: As an athlete and coach, in the end of the martial arts taolu competition, my team members won the fifth gold medal of the Shaanxi delegation in the competition. I am also extremely honored to be able to take this gold medal to participate in the torch relay.

This torch relay activity adopts the model of "two fires in one and one transmission" between the National Games and the Special Olympics, and strives to let more disabled people and able-bodied people participate in the relay effort.

The transmission activity began on August 16 and lasted for 28 days, passing 14 sites in Sanqin Dadi. The flame will light the main torch tower at the opening ceremony of the 14th Games on 15 September and the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on 22 October.
