Shirokov and his mother
Andrei Shirokov lived in such an environment of creativity and art that he himself had been painting with his grandparents since childhood. His mother taught him to use pencils and paints correctly, and his grandmother gave him a basic modeling lesson. Later he attended art school and the Academy of Fine Arts. He learned a lot in the painter's town of the "Creative House of the Union of Russian Artists" and improved his painting skills.
After serving in the Soviet army, he entered the Kirov Plastic Arts Studio of the Russian Art Foundation, but he considered his true school to be a creative home, where he could be supported and guided by the masters.
Shirokov was fascinated by the scenery of his hometown and traveled all over the country. In the 1990s and the first decade of the 21st century, he made several trips abroad, to Poland and Greece, where he was closely related, and to Italy and France. Not only did he sketch on a trip, he also participated in international art exhibitions and art workshops in Europe. In recent years, he has gone to the United States several times to hold art exhibitions. In his paintings, the painter tries to show the originality of the Color of the Russian Nation, the folk customs and the personality of the Russian Nation.
Andrei Shirokov's paintings can be traced back to the cultural traditions of Classical Russian art. He admits that the way he created within the framework of realistic realist painting was due to his grandfather Alexei Petrovich.
In the artist's eyes, any season attracts scenery, but Shirokov prefers winter. On his canvas, it is often the soft and harmonious colors of sunny winter days, with silver gray, white and azure blue forming the main color, and the transparent color creates a special light and shadow effect.
His landscape paintings are entirely based on nature, but they are not just mechanical reproductions of natural landscape paintings. On the contrary, his landscape paintings have some lyrical overtones, telling the audience about the author's own feelings and aesthetic experiences.
