Synopsis
The book was first published in paperback in 2017.
The research scope of this book is mainly on the history and culture of Mongolian tribes from the Mongolian Yuan period to the Qing Dynasty, and the political history, social history, religious history of Mongolian tribes, as well as ethnic exchanges between Mongolian and Manchu, Mongolian and Han dynasties are involved, with rich content and solid research. The book is divided into two parts: the first part is the history of the Mongol tribes, which is divided into seven chapters, which explore the formation and evolution of Mongolian tribes to tribes, including the rise and change of famous tribes such as Qaraqin, Asut, Heshuot, Zarut, Eastern Tumut, and Khalkha Mongols. The second part is devoted to the study of Mongolian cultural history and is divided into twelve chapters, which explore the political and religious cultural changes influenced by Buddhism in various places after the Mongols accepted the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as the deeds of the Mongolian literati in the Qing Dynasty and the Mongolian script heritage. Because the author specializes in the study of Mongolian language and literature, a large number of first-hand Mongolian literature at that time is quoted, many of which have not been valued by the academic community before, but are the first time used by the author, which is of great value for the future development of academic research.
Since its publication in 2017, it has been highly praised by readers. Many readers believe that this book is a profound, thorough and comprehensive study of a large number of Mongolian historical materials and Tibetan Buddhist documents from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and requires multi-lingual, stylistic and multidisciplinary knowledge, as well as the author's profound language and research literacy. Due to the fact that it sold out shortly after publication, the material was rare, so it was republished in hardcover in 2021.
