Beijing, September 17 (China News Service) -- As a key support work of the traditional fine art rearrangement plan of the China Children's Art Theater "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", the children's drama "Newsboy" will premiere at the China Children's Theater on September 25.
The children's drama "Newsboy" takes the "Anhui Southern Incident" created by the Kuomintang during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression as the background, and depicts the story of a group of small newspaper boys in the Xinhua Daily who grew up rapidly in battle under the education and care of Vice Chairman Zhou Enlai and the cultivation of Xinhua Daily. The play was created and performed by the China Children's Art Theatre in 1978. Wang Tiecheng, Fang Fengfen, Qin Kun, Li Ruojun, Lian Dezhi and other famous artists of Chinese children's art participated in the main roles in the play. The images of the children in the play, Shi Lei, Cao Mang, Mo Mo, La Yue and the beloved Vice Chairman Zhou, have been deeply imprinted in the hearts of generations of Chinese people. "Newsboy" has become one of the most influential children's drama works in China.
At the media meeting on the 17th, Feng Li, director of the China Children's Art Theater, said that the re-arrangement of "Newsboy" gathered three generations of old, middle-aged and young artists and elites in the industry, which is not only the inheritance of artistic creation, but also the inheritance of the historical spirit.
The director of the new edition of "Newsboy" is Jiao Gang, a national first-class director. He said that during the rehearsal process, the main creative team of the crew, all the actors and the stage artists formed a warm collective, and strived to inherit the artistic spirit contained in the work in its entirety. Xue Bai, a national first-class actor and actor of the film version of "Layue" in the film version of "Newsboy", served as the performance director of the play, and she shared with the media her personal experience of performing with the older generation of artists in China, and she strived to pass on the performance experience she learned from the older generation of artists to the young and middle-aged actors in the theater without reservation.
The cast of China Children's Arts' re-arrangement of "Newsboy" includes not only senior performing artists with both moral integrity and art, but also energetic young actors who have just entered the theater, and the backbone of the theater performance team with both creativity and rich experience. Liu Xiaoming, a national-level actor who plays Vice Chairman Zhou in the play, said at the meeting that although he felt great pressure when he received the role task, he would insist on having a reverence for the classics and strive to adjust the state to the best on the road of artistic creation.

In addition, "Newsboy" also specially invited Ren Yigong, a special effects image makeup artist of Beijing Film Studio, to serve as the makeup design of the role of Vice Chairman Zhou in the play, and Ma Lu, director of the Stage Art Department of the China Academy of Drama and vice president of the China Stage Art Society, served as the lighting design of the play, and the excellent main creative team of the theater jointly "escorted" the play.
The stage of "Newsboy" is also a highlight of the play. Full of modern industrial style stage setting and multimedia technology blend with each other, not only reflects the strong characteristics of Chongqing's mountain city but also contains exquisite newspaper elements, while showing the unique charm of the drama stage, the eyes of the small audience focus on the superb performance of the actors, integrating themselves with "Newsboy".
