On January 20, Jiaxing Customs intercepted a large number of live pests during on-site inspection of a batch of imported German white oak logs.
After sampling and identification, as many as 9 kinds of pests were intercepted, namely the cylindrical long beetle, the oak double-dot gidding, the oak narrow gidding, the six-star copper giding, the jianli tiger tianniu, the red-backed tianniu, the oak beetle, the northern wood beetle, and the black strip wood beetle. Among them, the column long beetle and the oak double-spotted gidding are quarantine pests.
It is understood that the pests intercepted this time are important forest pests, which can harm a variety of trees, affect tree growth and wood quality, and once introduced, it will cause great harm to China's ecological security. At present, Jiaxing Customs has implemented strict fumigation and pest removal treatment for the batch of goods.
