Did you know that there are some terrible creatures on the ocean floor? Indeed, we know more about the universe than about Earth's oceans. In fact, to this day, we are discovering new creatures lurking in depths that even sunlight can't penetrate. To be honest, some of these creatures are quite creepy.

Shrunken-headed fish lice, tongue-eating insects
We start with a bang. This terrible creature enters the fish through the gills of the fish, eats the tongue of the fish, and then attaches itself to the place where the fish's tongue originally belonged.
Known as ratfish, ghost fish and ghost sharks, it is considered to be one of the oldest surviving fish. They live in extreme darkness and deep water, so encountering these monsters is sure to make you have nightmares. Look at that face!
Frilled shark
This deep-sea shark has three fangs that can do damage to anything it catches. Plus, it looks terrible.
Tardigrades
While most of the creatures on our list are large, these guys are tiny, microscopic. They can survive at almost any temperature and can survive without water for more than a decade!
Sunfish
Also known as the Ocean Sunfish, it sounds good, right? Well, think again, because it's easy to go over 900 kilograms. Although it won't attack you (it will only eat jellyfish...). Lots of jellyfish!), but to see the heaviest bony fish in the ocean swimming towards you is a very scary sight!
Giant squid
These monsters can grow up to 18 meters long, but their eyes are as big as a beach ball. Their eating habits are as terrible as you think. They grab their prey with their tentacles and then bring it into their mouths. There, it is shredded by a tongue full of teeth before reaching the esophagus. It's basically a meat grinder...
Megalomaniac
Discovered in 1976, this giant shark had a light in its mouth to attract plankton. Don't follow the lights!
Thorny eels
Given that this opharyngeal animal lives on the ocean floor thousands of meters deep, little is known about it. But what we do know is that it has a huge jaw and can swallow prey as big as it is!
New hot blee
Although it poses little threat to humans, when it is restless, it opens its huge mouth to ward off predators. Whether it's human or not, just by looking, we want to swim away as fast as we can.
Giant isopods
These scavengers live on the sea floor at nearly 2,000 meters, and they can grow up to 3 meters long. Moreover, they existed before the advent of dinosaurs. Why? They are survivors. They can go 4 years without eating. So even though they won't eat you, imagine bumping into this thing in the pitch-black sea. It's basically an underwater cockroach bigger than a human!
Fangfish
They live more than 5,000 meters under the waves. At that depth, the pressure crushes a person. In fact, this fangfish, aptly named an underwater monster, is larger than any fish in the ocean!
Big-eyed star shirt fish
This creepy-looking fish has hook-like teeth that can help it catch prey. In addition, it lives in incredible depths where the sun does not shine. So, if you do see this horrible creature, its glowing skin and nightmarish teeth may leave you with some scary memories!
Odd spiny fish
This alien-looking fish has sharp teeth, lives in the depths of the ocean, and can emit light.
Giant spider crab
At 300 meters underwater, you will find the world's largest crab. It can grow up to almost 4 meters!
Pacific Viper
These creatures live several kilometers below the surface of the ocean, and their teeth grow so long that they can't even close their mouths.
Vampire squid
Its name, vamphateuthis infernalis, literally means "vampire squid from hell". "Why? This undersea squid lives in deep water that sunlight can't penetrate, and if you attack it, it flips itself over, revealing dozens of prickly protrusions. What could be more frightening than that?
Water drop fish
While this creature won't hurt you, it will make you regret agreeing to dive in the deep sea. It was even once voted the ugliest animal in the world, and just look at this picture and you'll see why.
Trout, anglerfish
This deep-sea monster lures its prey with a glowing rod sticking out of its head.
Dumbo octopus
Although they look cute, it is known that these guys wrap their webbed arms around them before eating them.
Black fork tooth fish
Probably the most feared creature here, with a maximum length of 25 cm, the black forked fish live at depths of 750 meters on the ocean floor, and are famous for their ability to swallow other fish much larger than themselves. This fish can swallow prey that is more than twice its size.
