These beautiful cherry blossoms have an indissoluble relationship with Japan. In 1986, Keishiro Sakamoto, Kiyomi Hasegawa and other Japanese friends established the "Japan Friendship Forest Construction Implementation Committee" to donate cherry blossom saplings to Wuxi City and carry out friendly exchange activities between the two countries. In the 34 years since the establishment of the China-Japan Cherry Blossom Friendship Forest in 1987, Sino-Japanese friendship people have planted more than 30,000 cherry blossom trees in the scenic spot, with nearly 100 varieties, and Yuantouzhu has gradually become a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in China.
