On the morning of October 12, the Anhui River Public Railway-Water Intermodal Transport General Terminal Project (hereinafter referred to as "Anhui River Port") started construction in Hexian County. The total investment of the project is 1.5 billion yuan, the construction period is 2 years, and the annual design throughput is 20 million tons. After completion, it will become a deep-water port with the longest shoreline and the largest berth level in the history of the Yangtze River port construction in our province, providing a platform for the economic hinterland of Hexian, Hanshan, Hefei and northern Anhui to reach the sea.

It is understood that the Anhui River Port project is located in Huangdun Village, Liyang Town, Hexian County, between the lower reaches of the New River Estuary and the upper reaches of the Desheng River Estuary, the Zhengpu Operation Area of Zhengpu Port District of Ma'anshan Port, and the left bank of the Jiangxinzhou Waterway in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River (the waterway mileage of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River is 403.5-404.1 km). The project uses a shoreline length of 590 meters, the port abdomen covers an area of 510 acres, the main construction of 3 20,000 tons (hydraulic structure taking into account the 30,000 tons) general berths (of which Berth No. 1 is bulk cargo, No. 2 berth is miscellaneous, No. 3 berth container), while supporting the construction of bulk cargo warehouses (fully enclosed belt machine corridor into storage), miscellaneous and container yards, power supply and distribution systems, automation control systems, water supply and drainage systems, fire protection systems, environmental protection systems, port logistics information systems and other production auxiliary facilities, As well as necessary living support facilities such as offices, dormitories, and canteens.

At present, the project has been jointly listed by the Provincial Department of Communications, the Department of Finance, the Development and Reform Commission, and the Department of Economy and Information Technology as the second batch of provincial-level multimodal transport demonstration projects in the province. The project will fully rely on the advantages of the Yangtze River Golden Waterway, Zhengpu Port Railway Special Line, G347 National Highway and other channels, with containers, miscellaneous and bulk cargo as the content, with public, iron and water combined transport as the characteristics, and high standards to create an energy-saving, green, environmental protection, low-carbon and efficient modern port integrating production, processing, warehousing, logistics and other functions, as well as the river-sea intermodal transport hub center and multimodal transport distribution center in our province.

In accordance with the idea of "taking production with ports, promoting the city with production, and linking with ports and cities", Hexian will take advantage of the east wind of the construction of the Anhui River Port to accelerate its integration into the Nanjing Metropolitan Circle and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, accelerate the pace of high-quality green development of the Hexian Economic Development Zone, and do a good job in industrial planning and layout. After the completion of the Anhui River Port, it will become the core growth pole of hexian economic development.
