He said that defending the country is the main purpose of military personnel, and the concept of the reserve army is the same, and the reserve army, like the military, must master advanced defense technology and professional knowledge, and be ready to face any challenge at any time and anywhere.

The reserve barracks cover an area of 6 acres and have only 1500 people

Zairani said: "The Senzhou reserve barracks cover an area of about 6 acres, with professional training facilities, which can accommodate 3,000 reserve troops, but at present there are only 1,500 people, most of whom are of Witch descent, and about 15% of them are Indians, including doctors, professionals and teachers. ”

He pointed out that the small number of reserve troops is a problem faced by each state, especially the Chinese reserve army, the Chinese community has always been less willing to join the reserve army, and the situation in Senzhou is even more serious, there are only 3 active reserve troops, so it is more urgent to attract Chinese to join. Although the reserve army is a voluntary service, it can also become a team of soldiers, in fact, there are many Chinese who do not understand the existence of the reserve army, or do not understand the nature of the reserve army, resulting in a low participation rate.

Do not contact the outside world for one month

Zai Lani said that if you want to become a formal reserve army, you must pass a month of training, but passing the test of this training is the biggest challenge of the reserve army, during which you cannot contact the outside world, you cannot meet with your family, you do not have a mobile phone, many people surrender in a week, once you pass the training, after training, the level can be continuously upgraded.

He pointed out that the Volunteer Guard Corps belongs to the Ministry of the Interior, and the Reserve Army belongs to the Ministry of Defense, which is also recognized by the Royal Family, and the Reserve Army emphasizes military discipline and can also learn military knowledge after joining, such as firearms, shooting, anti-art, forest survival, etc.

He said that the Minister of Youth and Sports, Carey, who is also the commander of the relevant barracks, comes to train with the team from time to time, and although there are compatriots of all ethnic groups in the camp, everyone is like partners and there is no racial discrimination.

Zairani added that the reserve army's pass is renewed every 5 years, because it is a voluntary service, the barracks do not force each person to participate in each training, but the activity is not high, after 5 years the pass will be automatically terminated.

Benefits have improved

Zairani stressed that the welfare of the reserve army has been improved, and the reserve army that comes to train every weekend receives an hourly allowance, and the price depends on the rank or position.

He said the basic requirements for joining the reserve army included being a Malaysian citizen, aged between 18 and 45 years old and possessing a Malaysian Diploma of Education (SPM). After having a military ID, you can enjoy military benefits, and the relevant military camps will select some active reserve troops every year to participate in tour groups to increase the morale of the reserve army. Before joining, the reserve army must pass basic physical tests, such as heart and blood, while men and women must weigh at least 48 kilograms, and the training content includes walking, learning to use firearms, forest combat strategies, etc.

Liang Baozhen said that he became a reserve army in 1992, and when he was in college, he chose to join the university reserve army (PALAPES) because of his great interest in the army, and after completing his studies, he joined the Seremban reserve military camp in 1998, and is currently responsible for teaching military basic knowledge courses in the military camp.

He said that the reserve army does not take up too much time, my own profession is a teacher, I will work in Port Dickson on weekdays, and serve in the reserve barracks on weekends, and now my son is also interested in the reserve army, and I am pleased to join the reserve army voluntarily after graduation.
