In order to enhance students' interest in learning mathematics and create a strong atmosphere for mathematical learning, on the afternoon of October 26, the third grade group of primary school mathematics of Nanchang Modern Foreign Chinese School carried out a mathematical activity with the theme of "Playing with Mathematics one of the fun clock faces".
This activity is mainly based on the characteristics of third-grade students and the corresponding mathematical knowledge content, aimed at allowing students to make their own design of the clock face, the understanding of the knowledge of the clock face from the book to the fingertip, driven by the finger end of the thinking, so as to burst the inspiration of thinking, so that the knowledge of "hours, minutes and seconds" is not only the conversion of the unit in the exercise.
The students actively thought and used their brains, and a large number of excellent works emerged. There are both waste cake boxes, clock faces made of discarded discs, cartoon character clock faces, and more creative five-star red flag clock faces... On October 27th, the Junior English Fifth and Sixth Grade Groups held the "Brainstorming, Mind Mapping to Help Memory" competition, which was divided into two competitions: the preliminary round and the semi-final.
In the preliminary stage, all the English teachers selected about 10 students from each class to participate. The participating students conceived and created on the spot according to the competition materials, and they closely focused on the theme and created a mind map with rich colors and changing shapes, so that the thinking process of the brain became visual. After the preliminary round, each judge and teacher will screen the students' works. In the end, 12 excellent mind map works entered the rematch.
At the scene of the rematch, under the guidance of the teacher, the students gave full play to the subjectivity and interpreted their works fluently and clearly in English. Each judge and teacher conducted on-site evaluation and scoring of the students in each competition, and finally selected 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 3 third grades in each grade group.
This activity aims to enable students to further understand and learn to use mind maps, exercise divergent thinking, logical thinking, improve learning methods, and improve English learning level.
