Sudanese media reported on October 28 that the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Burhan, has dismissed six ambassadors abroad.

According to reports, Sudan's ambassadors to the United Nations Office at Geneva, the European Union, the United States, France, China, Qatar and other international organizations and countries were dismissed by Burhan on the 27th because they expressed support for Prime Minister Hamduk of the Sudanese Transitional Government.

Sudanese politics has recently faced serious divisions. Military leaders have called for a change of government, while some have accused the military of planning to seize power. On the 25th of this month, Bulhan declared a state of emergency, dissolved the SovereignTy Council and the Transitional Government, and relieved all governors. The Office of the Prime Minister of the Transitional Government of the Sudan issued a statement on the same day saying Hamduk had been "kidnapped" at his residence in the capital, Khartoum. On the evening of the 26th, Hamduk and his wife returned to their residence.
