Foreign media: Sudan was deposed by the prime minister and put forward the conditions for the formation of a cabinet

According to Reuters Khartoum on October 29, sources said on Friday that the prime minister, who was deposed by the Sudanese military this week, was ready to negotiate the formation of a new government on the condition that the military reverse the coup and release the detainees. Relevant sources have met with the prime minister.

In his public remarks on Thursday, the coup leader, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, appeared to leave room for Prime Minister Abdullah Hamduke to lead a new government, saying he was free to form a cabinet at his option.

Sources who met with Hamduke said Hamduke wanted to have a dialogue, but only if the situation was restored to what it had been before the coup on the 25th. Conflicting positions between the two sides show the difficulty of navigating through mediation to get out of the crisis: The military told mediators they would only release detainees who would not face criminal charges, repeating Bulhan's remarks this week, the sources said.

The reporter was informed that a committee had been set up in Khartoum to engage in mediation work, and that the committee had met with the military and civilian services.

A European diplomat said Western countries would not engage with the Sudanese military or mediate any negotiations unless the detainees were released and the Sudanese military demonstrated its determination to share power in accordance with the Transitional Constitutional Declaration.
