Social Security Card Processing Process
1. Persons who have not applied for a social security card may apply for it in the following ways:
(1) On-site application. The applicant brings his/her valid IDENTITY card to the local card issuing bank's instant card making service outlet to collect information on the spot, make and activate the card on the spot.
(2) Online application. After submitting the personal card information through the "Wisdom People's Society APP", the applicant shall bring his/her valid identity document to the instant card making service outlet of the card issuing bank to collect the card and activate it on the spot; the inter-provincial remote personnel can choose the Bank of China and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China online to provide mailing services, and activate the card according to the activation method prompted by the issuing bank after receiving the card.
(3) Other circumstances. Persons without capacity for civil conduct and limited capacity for civil conduct, as well as special groups such as the elderly and persons with limited mobility, may have guardians or other agents handle social security card business.
