Deyang is the industrial base of Sichuan, and its regional GDP has ranked third in Sichuan for many years, second only to Chengdu and Mianyang, but in the past two years, Deyang's economic development has slowed down significantly, falling to 4th place in 2019 and lagging behind the 3rd Yibin by nearly 30 billion. The economic growth rate in 2020 is about 2.5%, which is the slowest economic growth region in Sichuan, with a regional GDP of 240.42 billion, only slightly ahead of Nanchong, and the fourth place is not strong. Deyang's budget revenue is only 13.2 billion, lagging behind Nanchong and Luzhou, which are smaller than his economies, which also shows that Deyang's economic quality is not high. However, in terms of per capita income, Deyang is relatively high compared with the cities in Sichuan.
Deyang is China's major technical equipment manufacturing base, its heavy equipment manufacturing development history is relatively long, after the third-line construction and reform and opening up 40 years of development, the formation of complete sets of power generation equipment, heavy machinery complete sets of equipment, large petrochemical equipment, large-scale drilling and production equipment as the representative of the equipment manufacturing capacity, has become one of the three major power equipment manufacturing bases in the country, with China's double heavy, Dongfang Motor, Dongfang Steam Turbine, Honghua Petroleum and a number of domestic first-class, world-renowned heavy equipment manufacturing enterprises. Deyang heavy manufacturing cluster in China and even the world has a huge influence, more than 60% of the country's nuclear power products, 40% of hydropower units, more than 30% of thermal power units and steam turbines, more than 50% of large-scale steel rolling equipment and large-scale power station casting forgings, 20% of large-scale marine casting and forging parts are completed by Deyang, of which power generation equipment ranks first in the world for many years, and oil rig exports rank first in the country.
But also to see that deyang's heavy equipment industry scale is small, far from forming a dominant position, the city's heavy equipment manufacturing output value is less than 300 billion, the scale is small, if all the equipment manufacturing industry in Deyang to see an enterprise, its output value also ranked after the 70th place in China's top 500. In recent years, Deyang's economic growth has been slow, mainly due to the sluggishness of the heavy equipment industry. Deyang must make efforts in the expansion of the scope of equipment manufacturing, the expansion of the length and width of the industrial chain, and the introduction of key components, increase the intensity of investment attraction, and increase the intensity of enterprise cultivation and industry support.
Deyang Industry ranks third in Sichuan, in addition to the equipment manufacturing industry, but also the development of chemical industry, food processing, pharmaceutical industry, clothing processing, etc., have achieved certain results, the effect is good.
1) In terms of chemistry and medicine, the rapid development of emerging industries such as chemistry, new materials, and medicine, the chemical industry has mainly formed a number of large backbone enterprises such as Sichuan Jinlu, Sichuan Hongda, Sichuan Longmon, Meifeng Chemical, etc.; the pharmaceutical industry can produce chemical preparations, APIs, proprietary Chinese medicines, health care products and other major categories, more than ten kinds of dosage forms, and more than 300 kinds of drugs have obtained national approval of production documents, which is the national new material industrialization base and the modern production base of traditional Chinese medicine.
2) In terms of agriculture and food processing, Deyang is located in the Chengdu Plain, with superior natural conditions, and has built a production base for vegetables, pigs, tobacco, poultry, edible fungi, medicinal materials and other agricultural and sideline products, and is a national livestock, poultry base, provincial pig export base and provincial high-quality grain and oil production base. The food industry has a long history, and some brands are well-known at home and abroad, such as Jian Nanchun, Blue Sword Beer, Blue Sword Beverage, Deyang Soy Sauce, Tianfu Peanuts, Yihai Grain and Oil, Great Wall Cigars, Ice Age Mineral Water has become a well-known brand and best-selling products at home and abroad, and has built the largest cigar smoke production base in Asia;
3) The annual production and processing capacity of the garment industry exceeds 40 million pieces (sets), and Defu, Qida and Dutong enterprises are listed in the national garment "double hundred" enterprises.
Deyang tourism resources are more, such as "sleeping for thousands of years, waking up to the world" Sanxingdui ancient Shu civilization site, its excavated bronze Dali people, bronze masks, bronze sacred trees and golden staff, Bianzhang and a large number of national treasure-level cultural relics, as well as the Baima Guan Pang Tong Ancestral Hall, one of the three major Confucius temples in the country Deyang Confucian Temple, one of the four major Chinese New Year paintings mianzhu New Year painting, in 2020 Deyang City to achieve a total tourism income of 26.963 billion, this achievement is not ideal, Deyang is close to Chengdu, a large consumer market, can vigorously develop rural tourism, Various forms of tourism such as leisure travel.
