There are many stories about family affection recorded in history, such as Meng Mu's three migrations to choose neighbors, mother-in-law's embroidery, etc., which vividly reflect the glory of the mother, but there is a person who has not been favored by his mother since childhood, he is the Zheng Zhuang Duke of the Eastern Zhou Kingdom.

Family affection is eternal: Huang Quan sees his mother

Zheng Zhuanggong

Zheng Zhuanggong, whose father was the son of Zheng Wugong, a secretary of the Zhou Dynasty, in 757 BC, Zheng Wugong's wife Wu Jiang had a difficult birth, was frightened, and named the child Yusheng, that is, the later Zheng Zhuang Gong, because he was frightened by his mother at birth, he was not loved by Wu Jiang from childhood, and three years later, Wu Jiang gave birth again, named Shu Duan. Because the birth of uncle Duan was very smooth, Wu Jiang loved this son very much.

Wu Jiang was bent on letting his younger son inherit the throne, so he often praised Shu Duan in front of Zheng Wugong, saying that he was smart and brave, a hundred times stronger than his brother Yusheng, and wanted to make his younger son the son of the world, but Wu Gong did not listen to Wu Jiang's opinion, and still insisted on making the eldest son the crown prince according to the etiquette, and only gave his younger brother Duan Gongcheng as a fief.

In 744 BC, Duke Wu died of illness and was succeeded to the throne as Duke Zhuang of Zhengzhuang.

When Wu Jiang saw that his younger son had no power, he asked Duke Zhuang to give the land to Shu Duan, and Duke Zhuang considered the dangerous terrain and the security of the country, but did not agree. Wu Jiang was not dead hearted, and once again proposed to give Him Jingyi, but Duke Zhuang no longer refused, and finally gave Jingyi to Shu Duan.

Shu Duan gets Jingyi, but Wu Jiang is not satisfied, and her ultimate goal is to let her younger son replace Yu Sheng as the monarch of the Zheng Kingdom. So she instructed Shu Duan to actively recruit troops and horses, accumulate grass and grain, and prepare for the usurpation of power, while she herself sought opportunities to help him invade the capital and replace Yusheng as the monarch.

According to his mother's instructions, Shu Duan focused all his attention on enhancing military strength and expanding his sphere of influence.

The people talked a lot, and Zhuang Gong was also very clear about what Shu Duan had done, but Zhuang Gong considered that he was a milk compatriot and did not want to hurt the feelings between the brothers. And he also knew that this was all his mother's intention, but he did not take any measures.

Zhuang Gong's forbearance did not make Shu Duan restrain, but on the contrary, he was more fearless and his ambitions were even more inflated. The chancellor could not bear to look at it, and repeatedly persuaded Zhuang Gong to take measures this morning.

Zhuang Gong believed that Shu Duan was rampant and had not yet launched a rebellion, and if he dealt with it prematurely, his mother would surely obstruct it. Gongzi Lü then sent a plan to Duke Zhuang to test Uncle Duan. Sure enough, he intercepted the correspondence between Shu Duan and his mother Xingbing. Duke Zhuang immediately took action, coupled with the support of the people for Duke Zhuang, and it was not long before Shu Duan collapsed and killed himself.

Zhuang Gong was very angry at his mother's behavior, settled his mother Wu Jiang in Yingdi, and vowed not to see Huang Quan and never to see each other.

Wu Jiang watched Zhuang Gong collect the letters handed to him, ashamed and embarrassed, and felt that he had no face to face Zhuang Gong, so he left the city and went to Yingdi.

Time slowly passed, Zhuang Gong's hatred for his mother had disappeared, thinking that she was his mother after all, he could not help but feel sad in his heart, and he also missed her. But he was prevented from meeting his mother because of his vows, and later, he built a high platform, and when he missed his mother, he ascended in the direction of the distant land.

When yingkaoshu was praised for his filial piety, he learned of this and wanted to help their mother and son reconcile, so he saw Zhuang Gong and said: "It is not necessary to go to Huangquan only if you are dead, let people dig a tunnel, and meet in the place where the spring water is dug, not only to see the mother, but also not to break the oath."

Zhuang Gong was very happy to hear this, so he asked Uncle Ying Kao to take charge of this matter, and soon dug the tunnel, and then took Wu Jiang to the tunnel to meet with Zhuang Gong.

Wu Jiang was very ashamed, and was very touched that his son could ignore the previous suspicions, and the gap between mother and son disappeared. Zhuang Gong sighed in the tunnel, and his happiness also melted.

Zhuang Gong and his mother finally "met in The Yellow Spring", and family affection can never be separated.
