Emperor Wuzhao (姚苌) (330–393 CE), courtesy name Jingmao, was the 24th son of Yao Yizhong, brother of Yao Xiang, and founding emperor of Later Qin.

After the disastrous defeat at the Battle of Former Qin, rebellions broke out in various places, and in 384 AD, Yao Cang accompanied Murong Hong to conquest Murong Hong, and fled in defeat. However, he was pushed by the Qiang and Xizhou Hao clans, so he called himself the Great General, Da Dan Yu, and the King of Qin in Ten Thousand Years, and established the Later Qin regime, with the era name Baique. In 385 AD, troops were sent to capture Jian Jian and hang him at the Sinpyeong Buddhist Temple. In 386 AD, he was officially proclaimed emperor and set the capital at Chang'an. In 393 AD, he died of illness, with the courtesy name Wu Zhao and the temple name Taizu.

Emperor Wenheng of Yao xing (姚興) (366–416 CE), courtesy name Ziyi, was the eldest son of Yao Cang. During his reign, he attacked Former Qin, led an army to the southern Jin Dynasty, captured Luoyang, and basically controlled the Yellow River, Huai River, and Han River basins. However, he lost the confrontation with the Northern Wei Dynasty, and at the end of his reign, the country was in turmoil, and the princes coveted the throne. In 416 AD, he died of illness and was buried in The Tomb of Emperor Wenhuan and Emperor Gaozu of the temple.

The last emperor - Yao Hong (388 ~ 417 AD), ziyuanzi, Yao Xing's eldest son, the last emperor of later Qin. In 416 AD, he ascended the throne and changed his name to Yuan Yonghe, and civil unrest occurred frequently during his reign. In 417, Liu Yu led an army to Northern Expedition to Later Qin, Yao Hong went out of the city and surrendered, and Later Qin perished. Later, he was escorted by Liu Yu to Jiankang, the capital of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and beheaded in the downtown area of Jiankang.
