According to the Associated Press Beirut reported on October 29, Saudi Arabia on Friday local time ordered the Lebanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia to leave the country within 48 hours and stop importing all goods from Lebanon. It was a reaction to the remarks of a Lebanese minister who described the war in Yemen as a Saudi "aggression."
A few hours later, Bahrain's Foreign Ministry said the Kingdom of Bahrain ordered lebanese ambassadors to the country to leave Bahrain within two days for the same reason.
The Lebanese prime minister and president discussed the Saudi decision and demanded that the Lebanese minister of information make an "appropriate decision," which was clearly asking for his resignation in the hope that it would ease tensions.
Saudi state media also reported that the Saudi ambassador to Lebanon was also asked to withdraw from the country. The move will not affect tens of thousands of Lebanese citizens and their families who live and work in the oil-rich country.
A video went viral on social media a few days ago. In the video, Lebanese Information Minister George Kurdashi called the war in Yemen an invasion by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He also said the war in Yemen was "ridiculous" and had to stop because he opposed the war between the Arabs.
