South Korea's Incheon version of the "Han Princess Incident" female middle school students were sentenced in a collective sexual assault case

The two defendants in the Incheon Girls' High School Students Were Sexually Assaulted by Collective Assault Case, which caused public outrage, were sentenced to heavy sentences.

The Criminal Division 13 of the Incheon District Court sentenced A (14 years old), who was detained and prosecuted for rape, etc., to 7 years in prison and 5 years in a short period of time in accordance with the relevant special case law on the punishment of sexual violence crimes. B (15 years old), who was also suspected of being prosecuted, was sentenced to 6 years of long-term and 4 years of short-term imprisonment.

Previously, in the final judgment held on the 19th of last month, the procuratorate separately sentenced the two people to long-term imprisonment of 10 years to 7 years of short-term imprisonment.

The Juvenile Law of the Republic of Korea stipulates that minors under the age of 19 who have committed a term of imprisonment of more than 2 years are sentenced to indefinite sentences with a maximum and a lower limit of the sentence for a long and short term.

Of course, if the special case provisions are applied, the sentence may be 20 years' imprisonment, but the indefinite sentence cannot exceed 7 years in the short term and 15 years in the long term.

If A and B live a model prison life, they can be released from prison before the completion of their long sentences.

In the early morning of December 23 last year, A and others called A,14 years old, a female classmate of the same school, to an apartment gym in Incheon's Yanshou District. After letting him drink, he took him to his apartment on the 28th floor and sexually abused him one after another, causing him to be injured. At that time, A was also suspected of using a mobile phone to take a nude photo of C, and later deleted it.

The apartment monitoring completely recorded the scene where the two men took C, who was unconscious due to drunkenness, away.

Because A certain mother of C petitioned on the Blue House website to severely punish the perpetrator, it caused public indignation in the world.

During the investigation, the police did not have some surveillance footage of the crime scene and did not seize the mobile phones of the injured students as evidence, which triggered the controversy over the ineffective investigation.
